Angel City FC defeated Tigres 1-0 in a friendly on Wednesday at Banc of California Stadium. Savannah McCaskill scored in the 79th minute to lift the NWSL expansion side past the Liga MX Femenil powerhouse. Several players earned minutes who otherwise have not seen much time in NWSL action, including a standout performance from Stefany Ferrer Van Ginkel. The two teams will play a return leg in Monterrey next year.
