NWSL Transfer Tracker: NWSL Summer Window (2026)

(July 18, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced that the club has loaned defender Sam Angel to DC Power FC in the USL Gainbridge Super League through December 31, 2026. Angel first joined Chicago in June 2025, signing a two-year contract through 2027, with an option for 2028. The defender was recently loaned to the Boston Legacy by Chicago from April 6 through July 30, 2026.

(July 17, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced that the club has signed forward Pietra Tordin to a multi-year contract extension, securing her stay in the Rose City through 2029. The 22-year-old leads the NWSL this season with six assists and has scored four goals for the Thorns, Portland’s co-leader in total goal contributions with 10 alongside midfielder Olivia Moultrie. In total, Tordin has tallied eight goals and six assists in league play for Portland. 

(July 17, 2026) The Orlando Pride announced that the club has signed midfielder Zoe Matthews through the end of the 2026 season. Matthews, 19, joins the Pride after beginning her professional career in 2024 with the Houston Dash, where she was the youngest signing in the club’s history at 17 years old. Following her debut season, Matthews spent time on loan in Europe, first with Spanish side Dux Logroño, and most recently, with SL Benfica in Lisbon, Portugal. On the international stage, Matthews has represented both Jamaica and the United States at the youth level.

(July 16, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced that the club has signed midfielder Jessie Fleming to a contract extension through 2028. The 28-year-old arrived to Portland in 2024 after spending four seasons at Chelsea. At Portland, she has made 65 appearances, including 55 starts. She has played in every minute for third-place Portland so far this season, which was set to be her last at the club per her former contract. Fleming is the captain of the Canadian women’s national team.

(July 16, 2026) Gotham FC has announced it has loaned goalkeeper Ryan Campbell to USL Super League side Lexington SC through December with an option to extend the loan for six months after that. The 24-year-old, who is on contract with Gotham through 2028, has made two appearances since joining the club in 2025—one in NWSL regular season play and one in the Concacaf W Champions Cup. Prior to joining Gotham, Campbell played collegially at UCLA and Stanford. She has experience in U.S. youth national team camps.

(July 14, 2026) Gotham FC has announced the signing of Denise O’Sullivan. She initially joins Gotham on a one-year loan from Liverpool FC “with an obligation for a permanent transfer,” according to a press release. O’Sullivan is no stranger to the NWSL, joining the league in 2016 with the Houston Dash. She made 19 starts in 29 appearances in Texas, scoring two goals. She then joined the North Carolina Courage in 2017, where she started 147 of 155 appearances, scoring three goals and providing 12 assists. With North Carolina, she won two NWSL Champions, three NWSL Shields and two NWSL Challenge Cups. She was named to the NWSL Best XI Second Team in 2023. At Liverpool — which she joined in 2026 — O’Sullivan made seven starts in nine appearances.

(July 13, 2026) The Kansas City Current announced that midfielder Debinha has extended her contract with the club on a one-year deal, through the 2027 NWSL season, with a “mutual” option for 2028. Debinha joined the NWSL in 2017 with the North Carolina Courage. In five seasons, she won two NWSL Championship titles and scored 35 goals in 100 matches. In 2023, she joined the Current and has started 57 of 70 appearances, scoring 21 goals and providing 10 assists. Debinha was named to the NWSL Best XI in 2022 and 2023. With the Current, she won the 2025 NWSL Shield.

(July 10, 2026) The Boston Legacy announced that Sophia Lowenberg has been sent on loan to Brooklyn FC of the Gainbridge USL Super League. The loan will conclude at the end of December. Lowenberg signed with the NWSL expansion side in December 2025, off a collegiate career at Boston College. She made her NWSL debut on May 30 against the Kansas City Current.

(July 9, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced the re-signing of forward Trinity Byars to a three-year deal, through the 2028 NWSL season. Byars, who is 23-years-old, began her professional career with the Wave last year, after a four-year collegiate career at the University of Texas. This season, she has scored four goals in nine appearances (one start). Last year, she did not feature, due to recovery from an ACL injury. Byars has appeared for the U.S. youth international teams, including scoring three goals in 12 appearances for the U-20 side.

(July 9, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced that the club acquired midfielder Anna Gasper from Benfica in Portugal. The acquisition includes an “undisclosed fee” payment to Benfica. Gasper was then signed to a two-year deal, through the 2027 NWSL season, with a mutual option for 2028. Gasper, a German international, began her career with Bayer Leverkusen (2013-16) before joining Turbine Potsdam (2016-20). She spent one year with Austria Wien before joining the Portuguese club from 2023-26, where she scored nine goals in 43 appearances.

(July 9, 2026) The Washington Spirit announced the signing of Cameroonian midfielder Monique Ngock to a three-year contract, through the 2029 NWSL season. Ngock joins the NWSL side after spending the 2025-26 season with FC Fleury 91 Cœur d’Essone, where she made 19 appearances and scored two goals. Washington will pay Fleury a “transfer fee,” which was undisclosed in amount. Ngock began her career in France with Reims, where she made 53 appearances and scored two goals from 2022-25. She has made seven appearances for the Cameroon national team.

(July 8, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced that forward Mimi Alidou has been transferred to the Montreal Roses of the Canadian Northern Super League for an undisclosed fee. In total, the Canadian international combined for one goal and three assists in 12 starts and 32 appearances across all NWSL competitions.  

(July 7, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced the signing of Dutch international Nina Nijstad through the 2029 NWSL season. Nijstad will join the team off a transfer from PSV Eindhoven Vrouwen “for an undisclosed fee, pending her P-1 visa and international transfer clearance,” according to a press release. She began her professional career with the same club she featured in as a youth, Heerenveen, where she made 48 appearances. She joined PSV in 2023, scoring 11 goals in 65 matches. Nijstad has made four appearances, scoring two goals, for the Netherland senior women’s national team.

(July 3, 2026) The North Carolina Courage announced that midfielder Manaka Matsukubo has been transferred to Chelsea FC in the FA Women’s Super League. The deal includes an “agreed-upon fee” that hasn’t been publicly released. Matsukubo was set to become a free agent at the end of the NWSL season and, according to a press release, “had a clause in her contract requiring the Courage to approve any transfer at or above a particular threshold.” During her time in North Carolina, Matsukubo made 49 starts in 58 regular-season appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing 10 assists.

(July 3, 2026) Denver Summit announced that Meg Boade, a native of Colorado, has signed a contract extension through the 2026 NWSL season. Boade originally signed a short-term contract after Denver’s NWSL preseason. She originally joined the Chicago Red Stars at the beginning of the 2025 NWSL season, before shifting to the Washington Spirit. She played three matches for Washington. She featured collegiately at Northwestern.

(July 3, 2026) Utah Royals FC announced that defender/midfielder Janni Thomsen has been transferred to the London City Lionesses of the FA Women’s Super League for an “undisclosed fee.” The Danish international joined the Royals in 2025 and has scored three goals in 37 appearances. Before coming to the NWSL, she began her career in 2017-20 with VSK Aarhus, scoring 14 goals in 51 appearances. She then joined Vålerenga from 2020-24, scoring 15 goals in 100 matches. She has made 45 appearances, scoring eight goals, for Denmark.

(July 3, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced the re-signing of Tatum Wynalda to a short-term injury replacement contract through the 2026 NWSL season. She originally signed with San Diego at the beginning of the season to a short-term injury replacement contract, through April 2026. The 21-year-old has made nine appearances, totaling 80 minutes. She joined San Diego after a collegiate career at Pepperdine University, where she earned 79 appearances, scoring 23 goals and providing 17 assists.

(July 2, 2026) Denver Summit announced that midfielder Nahikari García has been placed on the season-ending injury list with an ACL tear. The Spanish international made one appearance for Denver in her debut season with the club. She began her career in 2012 with Añorga, before joining Real Sociedad from 2014-21. During her long stint with Rela Scoiedad, she scored 99 goals in 187 appearances. She then joined Real Madrid from 2021-23 and then spent time with Athletic Bilbao from 2023-25. She has made 18 appearances, scoring three goals, for the senior Spanish national team.

(July 1, 2026) The Kansas City Current announced, alongside its free agent list, that the club has declined the 2027 options for midfielders Vanessa DiBernardo and Raquel “Rocky” Rodríguez. The team also announced that Flora Marta Lacho’s loan with HB Køge Women has been extended through the end of the 2026 season.

(July 1, 2026) The Houston Dash announced, alongside its free agent list, that the club and Zoe Matthews agreed to a mutual contract termination. Matthews, a midfielder, joined the Dash in 2024 and made two appearances across two seasons. She went on loan to Dux Logroño in Spain for the 2025-26 season, where she made five starts in eight appearances. She also spent a loan spell in 2026 with Benfica in Portugal.

(July 1, 2026) Denver Summit announced that the club has brought in goalkeeper Kat Asman, on loan from the Orlando Pride. The loan agreement is for the remainder of the 2026 NWSL season. Asman was on loan last season, featuring for Lexington SC in the Gainbridge USL Super League. In Lexington, she spent 28 matches in goal, en route to the club’s championship-winning run in 2025-26. She earned a league-record 12 clean sheets, and only conceded 24 goals.

(July 1, 2026) The North Carolina Courage announced the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Eric Meg Parkinson through the 2029 NWSL season. Parkinson, an English international, also has a club option for 2030 included in her deal. She will use an international roster spot, and will be eligible to play on July 14. She was called up to England’s senior squad earlier this year for UEFA qualifiers for the World Cup, but did not appear in any matches. She is coming off a stint with Valadares Gaia in Portugal, where she made 49 appearances and scored seven goals. Professionally, she goes by ‘Erica Meg.’

(July 1, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced that the club has recalled defender Sam Angel from her loan to Boston Legacy. The Stars originally loaned Angel to Boston on April 6, through July 30. Her time in Boston has been cut short by one month. Angel did not appear for Boston during any NWSL regular-season matches. She previously featured for IFK Norrköping, making 38 appearances, before joining the Stars in 2025.

(July 1, 2026) Racing Louisville FC announced the re-signing of goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska through the 2027 NWSL season, earning an extra season. Prohaska has appeared twice for Racing Louisville, earning a start on May 29 where she made four saves. Before joining Racing, Prohaska was rostered by the Seattle Reign, but did not make any NWSL regular-season appearances. She featured collegiately for Auburn University, where she made 96 appearances.

(July 1, 2026) Seattle Reign announced the signing of goalkeeper Neeku Purcell through the 2028 NWSL season, marking a two-year deal. Purcell is a native of Seattle, Washington, and was a Reign Academy product. She was formerly on a one-year deal, through the 2026 NWSL season. She has yet to make her NWSL regular-season debut. Collegiately, she made 27 appearances for UCLA from 2022-23.

(July 1, 2026) The Boston Legacy announced the signing of defender Deja Davis from Paris FC. The defender has signed a two-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Davis, who is originally from Montclair, New Jersey, began her career in 2017 with Le Havre, earning more than 100 appearances. She remained with the club until 2024, when she joined Paris FC. There, she made 39 appearances. Davis helped Paris FC win the Coupe de France in 2025.

(July 1, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced a contract extension for defender Sam Hiatt through the 2027 NWSL season. Hiatt joined the Thorns ahead of the 2025 NWSL season. In Portland, she has made 33 starts in 34 appearances, totaling 3,013 minutes. She spent one season with Gotham FC in 2024, recording 12 starts in 17 appearances. Hiatt began her career with the Seattle Reign, featuring from 2021-23, starting all 44 appearances and totaling 3,829 minutes.

(June 30, 2026) Seattle Reign announced that the club and midfielder Brittany Ratcliffe have mutually agreed to exercise an option for the 2027 NWSL season. A longtime NWSL veteran, Ratcliffe began her career in 2016 with the Boston Breakers, then joined FC Kansas City in 2017 before a stint with the Utah Royals from 2018-20. She joined Kansas City in 2021 before spending three seasons with the North Carolina Courage from 2021-23. She joined the Washington Spirit for 2024-25 before arriving to Seattle in 2026. She is a three-time NWSL Challenge Cup winner (twice with the Courage, once with the Spirit).

(June 30, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced that the club and midfielder Leilanni Nesbeth have “mutually agreed to part ways” ahead of her contract expiring at the end of the 2026 season. She will “pursue other opportunities.” Nesbeth was originally drafted in the 2024 NWSL Draft, and became the first Bermudian to play in the NWSL after making her debut on March 23, 2024. During her time in Chicago, she started 12 of 33 regular season appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

(June 30, 2026) Katie Lampson (née Stengel) announced her retirement from professional soccer on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. The forward is a two-time NWSL Champion with Gotham FC. The NWSL product has featured for the Washington Spirit (2016-17), Boston Breakers (2017), Utah Royals (2018-19), Houston Dash (2020-21) and two stints with Gotham FC (2023-24 and 2025-26). She also featured in Europe for Bayern Munich (2014-16), Liverpool (2022-23) and Crystal Palace (2024-25). She won the Frauen-Bundesliga in 2015, the inaugural NWSL Challenge Cup in 2020 with the Houston Dash and the FA Women’s Championship with Liverpool in 2022.

(June 30, 2026) The Washington Spirit announced two roster moves during the summer transfer window. The Spirit have exercised the 2027 option on Tamara Bolt’s contract and extended Madison Haugen through the 2026 season. Haugen was originally signed as a short-term injury replacement player. This season, Bolt has featured in five matches as a substitute, earning 41 minutes. During the 2025-26 USL Super League Season, the winger featured for the Dallas Trinity, starting eight of 12 matches for the Spirit this season, playing 651 minutes.

(June 29, 2026) Gotham FC announced the signing of forward Sam Kerr to a four-year contract, through the 2030 NWSL season. According to Gotham, the league’s new High Impact Player (HIP) rule was not used, due to Kerr’s ineligibility for it. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Kerr joins Gotham as the all-time leading NWSL scorer, with 77 regular-season tallies to her name. Kerr previously featured in the NWSL for the Western New York Flash (2013-14), Sky Blue FC (2015-17) and Chicago Red Stars (2018-19). She then featured for six seasons in London with Chelsea FC. Internationally, Kerr has scored 75 goals in 141 appearances for Australia.

(June 29, 2026) Seattle Reign announced that forward Ruby Hladek has received a contract extension through August 2026. The forward has yet to make her regular-season debut. She signed a short-term contract through June 2026 after entering preseason camp in Seattle as a non-roster invitee. Collegiately, she featured for Utah Valley University, where she became the school’s all-time leader in assists with 32. She also scored 24 goals in 60 appearances — all which she started.

(June 19, 2026) Angel City announced that Ally Sentnor has signed a contract extension with the club through 2029. The attacking midfielder was traded to Angel City from Kansas City Current on June 18. Her contract, which had originally been signed as a rookie at Utah Royals, had been set to end after the 2026 season. Sentnor has 23 U.S. women’s national team caps. She is eligible for High Impact Player Rule funds because of her 2025 USWNT playing time.

(June 25, 2026) Houston Dash announced they signed Serbian international forward Miljana Ivanović through the 2028 NWSL season following a transfer from Malmö FF in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan. The forward scored nine goals in 23 appearances for Malmö FF after helping London City Lionesses earn promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League during the 2024/25 season. Ivanović has earned 35 appearances and scored eight goals for the Serbia national team since her senior debut in 2019.

(June 25, 2026) Gotham FC announced that veteran U.S. women’s national team defender Emily Sonnett has signed a contract extension through the 2028 NWSL season. Sonnett, 32, joined Gotham FC ahead of the 2024 season. Across all competitions with Gotham FC, Sonnett has made 77 appearances, including 70 starts, totaling 6,317 minutes with four assists. Her performances during the 2025 campaign earned her NWSL Best XI Second Team honors. During the 2025 postseason, Sonnett appeared in and started her fifth NWSL Championship, reaching a final with four different clubs (Portland Thorns in 2017 and 2018, Washington Spirit in 2021, Seattle Reign in 2023, Gotham in 2025), and winning NWSL titles with three (Spirit, Thorns 2017, Gotham).

(June 23, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced the club and defender Daniela Arias have agreed to a mutual contract termination. Previously at Corinthians, the Colombian signed with the Wave early in the 2025 NWSL season. She went on to make two brief appearances for the Wave in that season; she has not appeared for the club at all in 2026. Her contract was set to go through 2026 with a mutual option for 2027. The centerback was part of Colombia’s roster for the 2023 World Cup, the 2024 Olympics, and the 2025 Copa América.

(June 22, 2026) The Kansas City Current announced that forward Temwa Chawinga has had her contract extended through 2029. The Malawian international has been a star for both the team and the league, setting records in all three seasons she’s spent with the Current. She is a two-time Golden Boot and MVP winner and Kansas City used High-Impact Player money to extend her contract.

(June 19, 2026) Angel City FC announced a trade with the Kansas City Current. Angel City acquired forward/midfielder Ally Sentnor from the Kansas City Current. In exchange, the Current received $850,000 in intra-league transfer funds. Sentnor began her career in 2024 with the Utah Royals, making 34 starts in two seasons. She joined Kansas City in 2025, making 19 starts in 23 appearances in 1.5 seasons.

I can’t wait to get started and experience the atmosphere at BMO Stadium.”

(June 18, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced that defender Daiane has joined C.F. Monterrey of Liga MX Femenil on a permanent transfer for an “agreed-upon fee.” Daiane has been on loan with Rayadas since January, where she has made three appearances. The Brazilian defender joined Portland in 2025, making nine appearances. Previously, she featured for Flamengo, Madrid CFF, Real Madrid, CD Tacón, Parish Saint-Germain and other Brazilian-based clubs.

(June 17, 2026)  Bay FC announced that the club has acquired midfielder Kennedy Fuller and an international roster spot for the remainder of the 2026 season from Angel City FC in exchange for $500,000 in intra-league transfer funds and $20,000 in allocation money. The U.S. U-20 international will join the club following the June international window. Fuller joins Bay FC following two-plus seasons with Angel City, where she’s recorded two goals and tallied two assists in 2026 while appearing in all 11 of her club’s contests.

(June 17, 2026)  Defender Lilly Reale, the 2025 National Women’s Soccer League Rookie of the Year, has been traded from NJ/NY Gotham FC to expansion team Boston Legacy FC. In exchange, Gotham will receive $350k in allocation money and $50k in intraleague transfer fee funds. Reale joins the Legacy on a four-year deal that runs through December 2029.

(June 16, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced the signing of Spanish international defender Leila Ouahabi to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Ouahabi is coming off a four-year stint at Manchester City, where she helped the club win the Women’s Super League 2025-26 title. That same season, Manchester City were also FA Cup champions. Ouahabi has also won a UEFA Champions League title, and five Primera División titles, with FC Barcelona. She has made 66 senior international appearances for Spain.

(June 16, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced the “activation” of the 2027 option for defender Marie Müller. The German international has made eight starts in 11 appearances for the Thorns in 2026. In 2024, Müller made 20 starts in 25 appearances. She missed the 2025 season with an ACL injury.

(June 12, 2026) The North Carolina Courage have announced a contract extension, through the 2029 NWSL season, for midfielder Shinomi Koyama. Previously, Koyama inked a contract through the 2027 NWSL season. The Japanese international has started 27 of 36 appearances through the 2025 and 2026 NWSL seasons, scoring three goals and providing three assists.

(June 10, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced the signing of Spanish international goalkeeper, Sandra Paños, through the 2028 NWSL season. The former FC Barcelona goalkeeper is a three-time UEFA Champions League winner and five-time Primera División winner with Barcelona. She recently won the 2026 Liga MX Femenil Clausura title with Club América, where she made 72 appearances since joining the club in 2024.

(June 10, 2026) Angel City FC announced that goalkeeper Faith Nguyen has been extended through the 2026 NWSL season. Nguyen, who is coming off a collegiate career at Texas Tech, originally signed a six-month contract in January. In 41 collegiate appearances, Nguyen earned 19 clean sheets and posted a 27-7-7 record. She has yet to make her NWSL debut with Angel City FC.

(June 9, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced contract extensions for midfielder Renee Lyles and defender Jennie Immethun. Lyles has signed through the 2026 NWSL season, while Immethun has been extended through July 2026. Both players are in their rookie season and joined the club after attending preseason as non-roster invitees. Lyles featured collegiately for Clemson University, while Immethun spent her time with UCLA.

(June 9, 2026) The North Carolina Courage have announced a contract extension, through the 2026 NWSL season, for defender Ivy Younce. The defender formerly signed a short-term contract through June. Younce has appeared in four matches, totaling 25 minutes. Younce is a former North Carolina Courage Academy player, and featured collegiately for Liberty University.

(June 5, 2026) The Houston Dash announced the contract extension of midfielder Maggie Graham to a “multi-year” deal, through the 2029 NWSL season. Graham has made 27 starts in 32 appearances for the Dash since joining the club in 2025. In 2026, she has has started 11 of her 12 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

(June 2, 2026) The Houston Dash announced that defender Rebeca will remain on loan with Dux Logroño in Spain through June 2027. Both teams agreed to the loan details. Rebeca joined the Dash in 2025, and only featured in club friendlies, not official NWSL competition. In Spain, Rebeca has earned 24 starts in 26 appearances, including one goal.

(June 2, 2026) The North Carolina Courage and forward Cortnee Vine have agreed to a “mutual contract termination,” according to the club. Vine was with the Courage from 2024-26. Previously, she featured for the Brisbane Roar (2015-17), Newcastle Jets (2017-19), Western Sydney Wanderers (2019-20) and Sydney FC (2020-24), all in Australia. She won a W-League Premiership three times with Sydney and a W-League Championship in 2022-23.

(June 2, 2026) The Kansas City Current announced that forward Kyra Carusa has officially been recalled to HB Køge Women in Denmark. The Irish international featured for the Swans from 2020-23, rejoining the team in January 2026 after stints with the London City Lionesses and San Diego Wave. She joined Kansas City on loan during the 2026 preseason and appeared in four matches this season.

(May 26, 2026) The North Carolina Courage announced that defender Sydney Schmidt has been placed on the league’s Season Ending Injury List (SEI List) with an ACL tear. The injury occurred “during a training session ahead of the Courage’s match against Racing Louisville.”

(May 20, 2026) Boston Legacy announced that the club has “activated” the contract option for the 2027 NWSL season for defender Laís Araújo. She originally signed a one-year contract, with a club option for 2027, as a free agent. She previously featured for Benfica in Portugal, Famalicão in Portugal and Madrid CFF in Spain. Araújo formerly featured for the Brazilian U-20 national team.

(May 14, 2026) The Kansas City Current announced a contract extension for defender Laney Rouse through the 2028 NWSL season, with a club option for 2029. Rouse has made five starts in eight appearances for the Current this season, as of June 16, 2026. She made her debut against Seattle on March 25.
