NWSL Transfer Tracker: NWSL Offseason (2025-26)

With the 2025 National Women’s Soccer League season coming to a close — congratulations to Gotham FC on the club’s second-ever league championship — teams across the league are making moves. This offseason, two clubs will join the fold: Boston Legacy FC and Denver Summit FC.

Utah Royals sign Kiana Palacios from Club América

(March 3, 2026) Utah Royals FC announced the signing of Mexican international forward Kiana Palacios via transfer from Liga MX Femenil side Club América Femenil. Palacios is one of the most accomplished attackers in Liga MX Femenil history and Club América’s all-time leading scorer, having made 174 league appearances and scored 90 goals since joining in 2021 — good news for a Utah side in desperate need of goal scoring. The 5’7 forward is a regular on the Mexico women’s national team. She is signed with Utah through the 2028 season.

ESPN reports that Utah paid an $800,000 transfer fee to sign Palacios, which is believed to be the second-highest outgoing transfer from Liga MX Femenil behind Lizbeth Ovalle’s then-world-record $1.5 million move from Tigres to the Orlando Pride last summer.

Avery Patterson signs 3-year contract extension with Houston Dash

(March 3, 2026) The Houston Dash announced that defender Avery Patterson signed a multi-year contract extension through the 2028 season. Patterson’s previous, now voided, contract ran through 2027. After being drafted by the Dash in 2024, the 23-year-old earned multiple honors in her second season with the team, named to the 2025 Best XI First Team and nominated for NWSL Defender of the Year. Patterson is currently with the U.S. women’s national team at the SheBelieves Cup, having earned nine appearances with the senior national team since making her debut against Brazil in April 2025.

Gotham FC transfers Stella Nyamekye to SK Brann

(March 3, 2026) Gotham FC announced it agreed to transfer midfielder Stella Nyamekye to Norwegian side SK Brann for an undisclosed fee pending clearance of her International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Nyamekye joined Gotham ahead of the 2025 NWSL season from Ghanaian side Dreamz Ladies FC and made two league appearances for the club. Nyamekye spent the 2025-26 season on loan with Fort Lauderdale United FC, where she recorded one goal and two assists in 14 appearances.

San Diego Wave acquires Gabi Portilho via trade with NJ/NY Gotham FC

(March 2, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced the signing of Brazilian international Gabi Portilho from Gotham FC for $175,000 in transfer fees. The attacker will stay with the Wave through the end of this season with an option for an additional year. In her one year with Gotham, Portilho made 19 appearances, scored three goals, had three assists and won the 2025 NWSL Championship.

Midfielder Sofia Cook signs extension with Gotham through 2028

(February 23, 2026) Gotham FC announced the club has agreed to a three-year contract extension with midfielder Sofia Cook through the 2028 season. The 21-year-old joined Gotham ahead of the 2025 season and made 10 appearances her rookie year. Cook previously recorded 12 goals across 56 matches at UCLA, where she helped the team win the NCAA national championship in 2022. She has also represented the USWNT at the U-20 and U-15 levels in international championships.

Boston Legacy signs midfielder Josefine Hasbo through 2028

(February 20, 2026) Boston Legacy announced the club has signed a new three-year contract with midfielder Josefine Hasbo through the 2028 NWSL season. Hasbo joined the expansion side through a trade with Gotham FC earlier this month. The Danish international represented Denmark in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and at the 2025 UEFA Women’s Euro. She also won the Ivy League in 2023 at Harvard University, where she spent four years.

Kansas City signs midfielder Croix Bethune in $1 million transfer from Washington Spirit

(February 11, 2026) The Kansas City Current have announced that the club has acquired Croix Bethune from the Washington Spirit in exchange for $1 million. The 24-year-old midfielder’s contract runs through the 2027 season. Bethune was named NWSL Midfielder of the Year and Rookie of the Year in 2024, and played for the USWNT in their gold medal-winning Olympic run that year.

Bay FC signs midfielder Claire Hutton in $1.1 million transfer from Kansas City Current

(February 11, 2026) Bay FC announced that the club has acquired midfielder Claire Hutton from the Kansas City Current for $1.1 million. Her The 20 year old was named to the NWSL Best IX in 2025 after she had a key role in Kansas City’s Shield win. She was nominated for NWSL Midfielder of the Year. in the same year. Hutton has made 13 appearances for the senior USWNT, and donned the captain’s armband for part of a game on January 24.

Utah Royals sign rookie Kameron Simmonds through 2027

(February 5, 2026) Utah Royals FC announced the signing of defender Kameron Simmons to a two-year contract. She started 17 of 21 games for Florida State University in 2025 and won the National Championship that year. Simmonds, who hails from Virginia, made her debut for the Jamaican senior national team in 2022, and made her World Cup debut for the Reggae Girlz in 2023. Simmonds played for the University of Tennessee in 2022 and 2023 before transferring to Florida State in 2024.

Bay FC signs forward Keira Barry via transfer from Manchester United through 2029

(February 4, 2026) Bay FC announced that the club has acquired forward Keira Barry via transfer from Women’s Super League club Manchester United and signed her to a 4-year contract. Barry will be added to the club’s roster pending receipt of her P-1 Visa and international transfer clearance.  The 20-year-old has played three professional seasons in England and been a standout at the youth level, featuring for England’s U-17 and U-19 national teams and helping Manchester United’s U-21 side to a double in 2022, winning both the WSL Academy League and Cup titles. She played under Bay FC head coach Emma Coates with the England U-23’s.

Kansas City re-signs midfielder Bayley Feist through 2026

(February 3, 2026) The Kansas City Current have announced the re-signing of midfielder Bayley Feist to a one-year contract, through the 2026 NWSL season. Feist joined the Current ahead of the 2024 season, and has made seven starts in 25 regular-season appearances with the club. Before joining the Current, she was a member of the Washington Spirit from 2019-23, where she was drafted in the 2019 NWSL Draft. She made 18 starts in 38 appearances for the Spirit. She featured collegiately for Wake Forest University from 2015-18.

Chicago Stars sign defender Aaliyah Farmer through 2028

(February 3, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced the signing of defender Aaliyah Farmer to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Farmer, a Mexican international, joined from Tigres UANL Femenil, where she spent the last year and a half. She made 26 appearances and scored three goals for Tigres, helping the club to a 2025 Apertura title. She featured collegiately for the University of Southern California, where she made 80 appearances and won the Big Ten Conference in 2024. Internationally, she has made five appearances for Mexico.

Bay FC acquires English defender Anouk Denton from West Ham United, signed through 2029

(February 2, 2026)  Bay FC announced it has acquired English defender Anouk Denton in a transfer with Women’s Super League club West Ham United. She then signed a 4-year contract extension, keeping her in the Bay through 2029. Denton will be added to the club’s roster following receipt of her P-1 Visa and international transfer clearance. The 22-year-old has represented England’s youth national teams at the U-17, U-19, and U-23 levels, where she played under new head coach Emma Coates. She played under Bay FC assistant coach Gemma Davies at the 2022 U-19 European Championship. Denton earned her first senior call-up in October 2025 before recording her first cap on Dec. 2.

Houston Dash loan Zoe Matthews to SL Benfica Lisbon

(February 2, 2026) The Houston Dash announced that defender Zoe Matthews will join Portuguese club SL Benfica Lisbon on loan through the 2025/2026 Liga BPI season. The loan includes a purchase clause for the 18-year-old defender.  The 18-year-old signed with the Houston Dash on Oct. 17, 2024, and was recently on loan with Dux Logrono in Spain.

Portland Thorns announce season-ending injury to goalkeeper Bella Bixby

(January 31, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced that goalkeeper Bella Bixby sustained a “left knee injury” during preseason training in Santa Barbara, California. According to a press release, the Thorns ” will now focus on providing world-class care, recovery and rehabilitation support for Bella over the next months. “

NC Courage acquire midfielder Carly Wickenheiser; Canadian signs through 2027

(January 31, 2026) The North Carolina Courage acquired midfielder Carly Wickenheiser off a permanent transfer from Swedish club BK Häcken for an “agreed upon” transfer fee. Additionally, the Canadian international signed a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season, with the Courage. Wickenheiser has spent her entire professional career in Sweden, beginning in 2019 with Morön BK, and also featuring for KIF Örebro DFF and Kristianstads DFF. She has made three senior Canadian women’s national team appearances. She was on the Canadian roster that won the 2025 Pinatar Cup.

Denver Summit signs defender Eva Gaetino through 2028

(January 31, 2026) Denver Summit announced the signing of defender Eva Gaetino to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Gaetino featured collegiately for Notre Dame University, and was named the ACC Defender of the Year in 2022 and 2023. After a four-year stint with the Fighting Irish, she signed with Paris Saint-Germain. She was in France for two years, where she also competed in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Chicago Stars place Natalia Kuikka on season-ending injury list

(January 31, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced that defender Natalia Kuikka has been placed on the season-ending injury list as she recovers from a torn ACL, suffered on the first day of preseason training (January 20). The club stated in a press release, “the Chicago Stars will fully support Natalia as she recovers and look forward to her rejoining the team.”

Denver Summit acquire Natasha Flint on loan from Tampa Bay Sun; Denver loans out Faith Webber to Tampa Bay

(January 30, 2026) Denver Summit announced that the expansion club has brought on Natasha Flint on loan from the Tampa Bay Sun FC in the USL Gainbridge Super League, through March with “an option to buy.” Meanwhile, Denver will loan Faith Webber to Tampa Bay for the remainder of the 2025-26 Super League season. The England international Flint made her professional debut with Manchester City in 2014, and has featured for 10 other clubs across Europe, including Celtic, Leicester City and Liverpool. She helped Tampa Bay win the USL Super League’s inaugural season last year.

San Diego transfers defender Sintia Cabezas to Olympique de Marseille Féminin

(January 30, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced the transfer of Sintia Cabezas to Olympique de Marseille Féminin, permanently. According to the Wave, Cabezas has been recalled, immediately, from her loan she was on with the Wave, with Levante Unión Deportiva Femenina. In addition, the Wave will “retain a percentage of any future transfer fee” if Marseille permanently transfer her in the future to another club. Cabezas signed with San Diego in January 2025, and was loaned to USL Super League side Lexington for the entirety of 2025.

Orlando Pride loan goalkeeper McKinley Crone to Fort Lauderdale United FC (USL Super League)

(January 30, 2026) The Orlando Pride announced that goalkeeper McKinley Crone has been loaned to Fort Lauderdale United FC of the Gainbridge Super League. The loan encompasses the remainder of the 2025-26 Super League season. She has made five appearances for the Pride, since signing as a National Team Replacement in 2023.

Utah Royals sign Haitian midfielder Dayana Pierre-Louis through 2028

(January 29, 2026) Utah Royals FC announced the signing of Haitian midfielder Dayana Pierre-Louis to a three-year contract through 2028 with an option for 2029 via transfer for an undisclosed fee from French Ligue 1 side, RC Lens, pending receipt of her P-1 work visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). During the 2024–25 season, Pierre-Louis helped lift her squad to a second-place finish in the Seconde Ligue, earning RC Lens promotion to the top-tier Première Ligue. She has made six national team appearances, including playing a key role in helping the senior team secure qualification for its first-ever FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023 and representing her country in the 2023 World Cup as the second youngest player on the squad.

NC Courage acquire defender Cameron Brooks from Napoli, sign through 2027

(January 29, 2026) The North Carolina Courage acquired defender Cameron Brooks via permanent transfer from Italian club Napoli for an agreed-upon fee and signed the Texas native to a two-year guaranteed contract through the 2027 NWSL season, with a one-year option, the club announced. She started her professional career with the Gainbridge Super League’s Fort Lauderdale United in 2024 and moved to the Italian Serie A Femminile club Napoli in July 2025 following the season. Before that, across a five-year collegiate career, Brooks made 72 appearances (44 starts) for the Texas Longhorns.

Angel City loans forward Maithé López to Vancouver Rise

(January 29, 2026) Angel City FC announced that Colombian forward Maithé López will be loaned to Vancouver Rise FC in the Northern Super League for the 2026 season, from February 1 to December 31. Prior to her 2026 loan, Lopez returned from a seven-month loan with Gainbridge Super League Team Lexington SC, where she logged 391 minutes across seven appearances, starting in six matches. López has represented her country in both the U-17 and U-20 South American Championships, as well as the 2024 U-20 Sud Ladies Cup. Most recently, she was called up to the Colombia senior women’s national team camp.

Portland Thorns sign Norwegian youth midfielder Cassandra Bogere through 2028

(January 29, 2026) The Portland Thorns signed midfielder Cassandra Bogere via a transfer from Norway’s SK Brann Kvinner for an undisclosed fee through the 2028 season with a 2029 club option, the club announced. The Norwegian youth international arrives after helping Brann lift the 2025 Toppserien title in November, scoring twice with 13 starts in 22 appearances last season. Internationally, Bogere has made nine appearances for Norway’s U-19 Women’s National Team between UEFA qualifiers and exhibitions.

NC Courage forward Aline Gomes transferred to Pachuca

(January 28, 2026) The North Carolina Courage announced the transfer of forward Aline Gomes to Pachuca of the Liga MX Femenil. Gomes joined the Courage in 2024 on a transfer from Brazilian club Ferroaviária. She scored two goals in 21 NWSL regular season appearances.

Houston loans goalkeeper Liz Beardsley to Tampa Bay Sun FC for remainder of year

(January 28, 2026) The Houston Dash announced the club has loaned goalkeeper Liz Beardsley to the USL Super League’s Tampa Bay Sun FC for the remainder of the year. Beardsley signed with the Dash in June 2025, and her contract lasts until the 2027 season with a mutual option for the 2028 season. Representing the U-23 U.S. Women’s National Team, she recorded three saves and a clean sheet in a November friendly against Slovakia’s senior women’s national team.

San Diego signs goalkeeper Luisa Agudelo through 2028

(January 27, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced the signing of Colombian goalkeeper Luisa Agudelo through 2028. The club acquired the 18-year-old from Colombian side Deportivo Cali Femenino, which she joined when she was just 15 years old. Agudelo was on the Colombia roster than finished in second place at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2022, and has earned two senior national team caps.

Washington signs Madison Haugen and Molly Skurcenski to short-term injury replacement contracts

(January 27, 2026) The Washington Spirit announced the signing of defenders Madison Haugen and Molly Skurcenski to short-term injury replacement contracts. “Both players will join the team for preseason training this month ahead of season kickoff in March,” per a statement. Following a college career at Georgia and Texas, Haugen played for Portugal’s Sporting CP in 2025. Skurcenski has spent the last four years at Texas Tech.

San Diego signs midfielder Gia Corley through 2027

(January 26, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced the signing of midfielder Gia Corley to a new contract. Her deal is for two years, through the 2027 NWSL season. During her first season in the NWSL, the German international started 21 of 24 regular season appearances, scoring two goals and two assists. She featured for Bayern Munich and TSG Hoffenheim in the Frauen-Bundesliga before arriving to the United States. At 23, she’s featured for Germany’s U-17, U-19 and U-20 teams.

Houston extends Jyllissa Harris’s loan to Ottawa through 2026

(January 26, 2026) The Houston Dash announced that defender Jyllissa Harris’ loan to Ottawa Rapid FC has been extended through the 2026 NWSL season. Harris was on the Ottawa team that qualified for the Northern Super League (NSL) playoffs in its inaugural season. Harris started 27 matches and was named the NSL’s Defender of the Year. She was also named to the league’s Team of the Season.

Washington Spirit signs forward Claudia Martínez through 2028

(January 26, 2026) The Washington Spirit announced the signing of Paraguayan international Claudia Martínez to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. There is a club option for 2029, according to the Spirit. The reported transfer fee to Olimpia, in her native Paraguay, is $950,000, per ESPN’s Jeff Kassouf. Martínez scored 10 goals in 25 appearances for Olimpia, and has six goals in eight appearances for Paraguay’s senior national team.

Gotham signs forward Jordynn Dudley through 2028

(January 26, 2026) Gotham FC announced the signing of Florida State University forward Jordynn Dudley to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Dudley has also featured for the U.S. youth national teams. She has scored five goals in 14 appearances for the U.S. U-20 team, and was part of the team that won the bronze medal in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2024. She won the NCAA Tournament with the Seminoles in 2023 and 2025, respectively. She is a three-time first-team All ACC player. In college, she scored 30 goals in 53 appearances, starting 51 matches and adding 29 assists.

Houston Dash signs forward Makenzy Robbe through 2026

(January 26, 2026) The Houston Dash announced the signing of forward Makenzy Robbe on a one-year deal, through the 2026 NWSL season. Robbe is a two-time NWSL champion, winning in 2016 with the Western New York Flash and 2018 with the North Carolina Courage. She is a three-time NWSL Shield winner, in 2017 and 2018 with the Courage and in 2023 with the San Diego Wave. Robbe has featured for the Western New York Flash, North Carolina Courage, Utah Royals, Chicago Red Stars and San Diego Wave. Robbe has made 75 starts in 152 NWSL regular-season appearances.

Boston Legacy signs forward Nichelle Prince through 2027

(January 26, 2026) Boston Legacy announced the signing of forward Nichelle Prince to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. The deal includes an option for a third season. Prince was acquired, via trade, by the Boston Legacy this offseason. Prince spent the last two seasons with the Kansas City Current, and has also featured for the Houston Dash from 2017-23. She has made 87 starts in 122 NWSL regular-season appearances.

NC Courage sign forward Evelyn Ijeh through 2029

(January 23, 2026) The North Carolina Courage announced the signing of forward Evelyn Ijeh to a four-year contract, through the 2029 NWSL season. Ijeh joined off a permanent transfer from AC Milan for “an agreed-upon fee.” The Swedish international began her professional career with Göteborg FC in 2017, and also featured for BK Häcken FF, Lidköpings FK and Växjö DFF in her native country. She joined Tigres in Liga MX Femenil in 2023, and went on loan on 2024 to AC Milan. She joined the Italian side permanently in 2024, where she scored 12 goals in 25 appearances.

Racing Louisville re-signs goalkeeper Olivia Sekany for six months

(January 20, 2026) Racing Louisville FC announced the re-signing of goalkeeper Olivia Sekany to a six-month contract, through July 2026. Sekany missed the entire 2025 season after suffering a knee injury in Australia during the previous offseason. She did not feature for Racing in her club career, but made 17 appearances for the Brisbane Roar in the Australian A-League in 2024-25, where she earned six clean sheets.

Bay FC defender Caprice Dydasco announces pregnancy

(January 20, 2026)  Bay FC defender Caprice Dydasco has announced that she and her husband are expecting their first child. Dydasco has been placed on the Maternity Leave list. Dydasco has been with Bay FC since its entrance into the league in 2024. She has previously featured for the Washington Spirit, Gotham FC and Houston Dash.

Washington Spirit recall Tamara Bolt; loan Heather Stainbrook to Dallas Trinity (USL Super League)

(January 20, 2026) The Washington Spirit announced that Heather Stainbrook has been sent on loan to the Dallas Trinity of the USL Super League through the entire 2026 calendar year. Meanwhile, Tamara Bolt has been recalled from her loan with the Dallas Trinity. Bolt tallied over 1,000 minutes in Dallas throughout 2025, scoring one goal and providing one assist in 15 matches.

Denver Summit signs forward Olivia Thomas through 2028

(January 20, 2026) Denver Summit announced the signing of forward Olivia Thomas to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. The deal also includes a mutual option for 2029. Thomas signed her first professional contract after a three-year collegiate career at the University of North Carolina, where she started 43 of 49 appearances and scored 23 goals. Thomas and the Tar Heels won the 2024 NCAA College Cup & Tournament, and was named Third-Team All-American in 2025.

Chicago Stars signs midfielder Emma Egizii through 2028

(January 19, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced the signing of midfielder Emma Egizii to a three-year contract. Egizii joins the Stars from UCLA, where she finished her five years with one national championship trophy, 11 goals and seven assists across 50 matches. Egizii has also made international appearances for the United States at the U-14 through U-19 levels.

Delphine Cascarino departs San Diego for London City

(January 19, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced that they would mutually part ways with Delphine Cascarino, a French forward who played in Southern California for 18 months. During her time with the Wave, Cascarino started in 30 games, appeared in 34, scored seven goals and tallied nine assists. Cascarino, who cited a need to be closer to home as her reason for departing, signed a 3.5-year deal with the London City Lionesses.

Denver Summit signs Faith Webber through 2026

(January 17, 2026) Denver Summit announced the signing of Utah Valley University’s Faith Webber ahead of the expansion team’s inaugural season. Webber joins Denver after a prolific career with the Utah Valley Wolverines, leading the nation in goals per game in 2024 (0.95) and total goals in 2025 (22). She broke nearly every record in the book and leaves Utah Valley as the program’s all-time leader in goals, points and shots.

Chicago Stars sign midfielder/defender Tessa Dellarose through 2028

(January 17, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced the signing of Tessa Dellarose to her first professional contract, running through 2028. Dellarose spent four years at the University of North Carolina, where she played defense and midfield and co-captained the Tar Heels in her junior and senior years. She helped lead North Carolina to a NCAA Tournament Championship in 2024, the team’s first in over a decade. In total, Dellarose played 89 matches for the Tar Heels, racking up six goals and 12 assists. She has also spent time with various U.S. Youth National Teams.

Denise O’Sullivan departs the North Carolina Courage for Liverpool after nine seasons

(January 17, 2026) The North Carolina Courage announced that its captain, Denise O’Sullivan, will depart the team to join Liverpool. Throughout her nine seasons in North Carolina, O’Sullivan played in 186 games, becoming the club’s all-time leader in appearances. She helped the team win three Shields, two championships and two Challenge Cups, and was named captain in 2023.

Washington Spirit goalkeeper Lyza Jessee announces her retirement

(January 17, 2026) The Washington Spirit announced the retirement of goalkeeper Lyza Jessee after three seasons in the nation’s capital. Jessee made her first and only appearance in the Spirit’s 2024 season opener against Seattle Reign FC, after being picked 28th overall in the NWSL draft. Prior to her NWSL career, Jessee played at Gonzaga University, where she allowed the fewest number of goals (47) in program history.

Denver Summit signs Duke’s Devin Lynch through 2026

(January 17, 2026) Denver Summit announced the signing of Duke University’s Devin Lynch. Lynch was an integral part of the Duke squad that made NCAA College Cup appearances in 2024 and 2025 and held the ACC trophy in 2024. Over her four seasons with Duke, Lynch started 51 matches, saw action in 84, and logged 4,353 total minutes.

Gotham signs goalkeeper Teagan Wy through 2028

(January 16, 2026) Gotham FC announced the signing of University of California goalkeeper Teagan Wy to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Wy, a U.S. youth international goalkeeper, featured collegiately for the Golden Bears, where she made 53 appearances, made 212 saves and allowed only 55 goals. She earned a goals against average of 1.12 and a save percentage of .79. Her collegiate record finished at 21-12-14, with 14 shutouts. Wy was the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. in the 2024 U-20 FIFA World Cup, where she helped bring home a bronze medal.

Denver Summit signs goalkeeper Jordan Nytes through 2026

(January 16, 2026) Denver Summit announced the signing of goalkeeper Jordan Nytes to a one-year contract, through the 2026 NWSL season. Nytes featured for the University of Colorado from 2023-25, and spent one year in 2022 with Oklahoma State University. In three seasons with the Buffaloes, Nytes featured in 67 matches, making 295 saves and allowing just 61 goals. She earned a goals allowed average of .93, and a save percentage of .82. She finished her college career with a 42-14-11 record at Colorado, including 26 shutouts.

San Diego Wave signs defender/midfielder Kiki Pickett through 2027

(January 16, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced the signing of defender/midfielder Kiki Pickett to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. Pickett began her NWSL career with Kansas City in 2021, then spent two years with the North Carolina Courage and, most recently, two years with Bay FC. Across five seasons, Pickett has started 51 of 68 regular-season matches, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Orlando Pride sign forward Seven Castain, goalkeeper Cara Martin and defender Nicole Payne through 2026

(January 16, 2026) The Orlando Pride announced the signing of three players — forward Seven Castain, goalkeeper Cara Martin and defender Nicole Payne — to one-year contracts, through the 2026 NWSL season. Castain signed her first professional contract after a collegiate career at Texas Christian University, while Martin is the third player this week to sign after a collegiate career at Georgetown University. Meanwhile, Payne joins after stints with the Portland Thorns and Paris Saint-Germain. She made 19 appearances for Portland. In college, she played for the University of Southern California.

San Diego Wave sign goalkeeper DiDi Haračić through 2026

(January 16, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced that the club and goalkeeper DiDi Haračić have agreed to a new contract, for one year, through the 2026 NWSL season. The goalkeeper joined the Wave on a one-year deal in 2025, after stints with Angel City, Gotham FC and the Washington Spirit. She started two matches where she made three saves. Across the league, she has made 87 appearances, recorded 257 saves and allowed 130 goals.

NC Courage re-sign forward Olivia Wingate through 2026

(January 16, 2026) The North Carolina Courage announced the re-signing of forward Olivia Wingate to a one-year contract, through the 2026 NWSL season. The forward was picked by the Courage in the 2023 NWSL Draft, after a collegiate career with Notre Dame. Professionally, she has made 26 regular-season appearances for North Carolina, scoring two goals and providing five assists. She has started two matches for the Courage.

Seattle Reign sign goalkeeper Evan O’Steen through 2026

(January 16, 2026) Seattle Reign announced the signing of goalkeeper Evan O’Steen to a one-year contract, through the 2026 NWSL season. O’Steen, who is 17-years-old, trained with the Reign in early 2025, and also the Dallas Trinity of the USL Gainbridge Super League. O’Steen spent 2025 at Florida State University, where she was on the team that won the NCAA Championship. She featured in four games, where she made two saves. She has represented the U.S. on the U-17 level, and started the U-17 FIFA World Cup, where she earned Golden Glove honors.

Racing Louisville signs forward Maja Lardner through 2027

(January 16, 2026) Racing Louisville FC announced the signing of forward Maja Lardner to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season, with a mutual option for the 2028 season. Lardner featured collegiately at Georgetown University, finishing her graduate season in 2025. Throughout her career, she started 55 of her 91 appearances for the Hoyas, scoring 31 goals and providing 20 assists. She had two double-digit goal seasons: 11 in 2024 and 14 in 2025. At the conclusion of the 2025 season, Lardner was named Second Team All-American.

Denver Summit signs defender Natalie Means through 2027

(January 16, 2026) Denver Summit announced the signing defender of Natalie Means to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. The contract is the defender’s first professional signing. She comes off a collegiate career at Georgetown University. She started 77 of her 79 appearances, scoring 21 goals and providing 14 assists. She hit double-digit goals in 2025, scoring 10 goals. At the conclusion of the 2025 collegiate season, Means was named United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region and All-American.

Racing Louisville signs defender Macy Blackburn through 2027

(January 16, 2026) Racing Louisville FC announced the signing of defender Macy Blackburn to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. Blackburn signed her first professional contract, after a collegiate career at Texas Tech. She is the all-time leader in assists for the Red Raiders, with 46 to her name — which is 19 more assists than the previous record. She earned the single-season assist record, as well, with 13 assists in 2025. In her five-year career at Texas Tech, Blackburn started 76 of 77 appearances, where she also scored 10 goals. She helped lead Texas Tech to a 2023 Big 12 Conference championship. Blackburn has featured for the U.S. U-20, U-17 and U-15 teams.

Chicago Stars sign defender Elise Evans through 2028

(January 16, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced the signing of defender Elise Evans to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Evans’ contract is the first of her professional career. She featured collegiately for Stanford University, where she started all 85 of her appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists. She totaled 7,272 minutes for The Cardinal, where she featured in two NCAA Tournament Championships (2023, 2025). She helped lead Stanford to an ACC Tournament win in 2025, and a PAC-12 Conference win in 2022. she was on the U.S. U-20 team that won the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup bronze medal.

Denver Summit signs forward Melissa Kössler through 2027

(January 15, 2026) Denver Summit announced the signing of forward Melissa Kössler to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. The German international joins after spending three and a half years at TSG Hoffenheim in the Frauen-Bundesliga. She made over 50 appearances and scored over 20 goals. She began her professional career with her childhood club, FCC Turbine Potsdam. She spent one season playing collegiate soccer in the U.S., with the University of Massachusetts. Kössler has made two appearances for the senior German women’s national team, and also featured for the nation’s youth programs.

Racing Louisville acquires goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska, Seattle receives $50k

(January 14, 2026) Racing Louisville FC announced the club has acquired goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska from Seattle Reign FC in exchange for $25,000 in allocation money and $25,000 in intra-league transfer funds in 2026. The agreement also features performance incentives that could raise the total amount. The second-year goalkeeper out of Auburn University did not make an NWSL appearance for the Reign during her rookie season, but made her professional debut in an international friendly over the summer. The 23-year-old, Ohio-native is under contract through the 2026 season.

Denver Summit signs Canadian midfielder Emma Regan through 2028

(January 14, 2026) Denver Summit announced the signing of Canadian international midfielder Emma Regan to a multi-year contract through the 2028 season with a mutual option for 2029. Regan joins from AFC Toronto, where she was the club’s first-ever captain, scoring three goals on the way to winning the inaugural Northern Super League Supporters’ Shield for finishing first place in the regular season. Internationally, Regan has represented Canada at the U-15, U-17, and U-20 levels before earning her senior national team debut in 2018. 

Angel City signs goalkeeper Faith Nguyen to six-month contract

(January 14, 2026) Angel City FC announced that it signed goalkeeper Faith Nguyen to a six-month contract ahead of the 2026 season. Nguyen trained with Angel City FC during the summer of 2025. The California-native began her collegiate career at UCLA (2021–23), where she was part of the Bruins’ 2022 NCAA National Championship team. She then transferred to Texas Tech, where she played a standout two seasons and emerged as one of the top goalkeepers in the Big 12.

Racing Louisville acquires midfielder Macey Hodge via trade, Angel City receives $83K and international roster spots

(January 14, 2026) Racing Louisville FC announced the club has acquired midfielder Macey Hodge from Angel City FC in exchange for $55,000 in intra-league transfer funds, $28,000 in allocation funds and an international roster spot for each of the 2026 and 2027 seasons. In her rookie season at Angel City, Hodge scored one goal and won 16 tackles in 16 matches, nine of which were starts. She spent a five-year collegiate career at Mississippi State University, where in 2024 she led the Bulldogs to their first SEC Regular Season Championship. That season, Hodge became the first player in program history to be named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy.

Houston Dash signs UNC forward Kate Faasse through 2028

(January 14, 2026) The Houston Dash announced the club has signed University of North Carolina midfielder Kate Faasse to a three-year contract through the 2028 NWSL season. Faasse helped lead the Tar Heels to a NCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship title in 2024, a season in which she won the MAC Hermann Trophy and was the NCAA’s top scorer with 20 goals. She recorded 35 goals in 88 appearances throughout her four-year collegiate career. The forward is the second UNC signing to the Dash this offseason, following midfielder Linda Ullmark, who was signed to a four-year contract the day prior.

NC Courage sign Ohio State goalkeeper Molly Pritchard through 2027

(January 14, 2026) The North Carolina Courage announced the club has signed Ohio State goalkeeper Molly Pritchard to a two-year contract through the 2027 NWSL season. Pritchard was named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year in her final season with the Buckeyes. She logged a program-record 32 shutouts throughout her collegiate career and has the second-most career saves in program history with 306.

Boston Legacy acquires Nichelle Prince and international roster spot via trade, KC Current receives $175k

(January 13, 2026) Boston Legacy has acquired Olympic gold medalist Nichelle Prince and a 2026 international roster spot from the Kansas City Current in exchange for $125,000 in allocation funds and $50,000 in intra-league transfer funds. The Canadian’s acquired, existing contract runs through the 2027 season. Prince played for two seasons in Kansas City, making 34 appearances as she was partially hampered by injury, after six seasons and 88 appearances for the Houston Dash. She has recorded 15 goals and 14 assists in 122 regular-season appearances over eight NWSL seasons. The 30-year-old has represented Canada at the senior international level for over 13 years.

Forward Riley Tiernan signs extension through 2028 with Angel City

(January 13, 2026) Angel City FC announced that it extended forward Riley Tiernan’s contract through the 2028 season. Tiernan had an exceptional rookie campaign and was nominated for NWSL Rookie of the Year and U.S. Soccer Young Player of the Year in 2025. The 23-year-old joined Angel City ahead of the 2025 season as a non-roster invitee and earned a roster spot with a strong preseason. She went on to start all 26 regular-season matches and logged 2,206 minutes, recording eight goals and one assist. Tiernan finished the year as the league’s top-scoring rookie, ranking second all-time among NWSL rookies, and setting a new Angel City single-season scoring record.

Houston Dash signs UNC midfielder Linda Ullmark to four-year contract

(January 13, 2026) The Houston Dash announced it signed midfielder Linda Ullmark through the 2029 season following a decorated, two-season collegiate career at the University of North Carolina. She played a key role in the program’s 2024 NCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship run, its first national title in 12 years, and was named to the NCAA Tournament All-Tournament Team. As a freshman in 2024, she was the only first-year player to start all 27 matches, recording six goals and five assists. In 2025, she made 21 appearances, scoring seven goals and leading the team with eight assists. Ullmark has represented the United States at the U-17, U-19 and U-20 levels.

San Diego Wave acquires Brazilian forward Ludmila via trade, signs through 2028 season

(January 13, 2026) San Diego Wave FC announced it has acquired Brazilian forward Ludmila from Chicago Stars FC in exchange for $800,000 in transfer fee funds and up to an additional $200,000 in conditional transfer fees. San Diego then signed Ludmila to a three-year contract through the 2028 season. The 31-year-old joined the NWSL in July 2024. In her first season with the Stars, the forward netted three goals in just seven appearances. During the 2025 season, she recorded 10 goals and one assist in 24 appearances, also setting an NWSL record for the fastest hat trick with three goals in 10 and nine seconds. Internationally, Ludmila has earned 63 caps, scored six goals, represented Brazil at the 2019 World Cup and two Olympic Games (2020, 2024), and won an Olympic silver medal.

Chicago Stars receive $800,000 transfer fee funds and up to an additional $200,000 in conditional transfer fees via trade

(January 13, 2026) Chicago Stars FC announced it acquired $800,000 in intraleague transfer funds from San Diego Wave FC in exchange for forward Ludmila. The Stars did not disclose the terms of the trade that made its value up to $1 million, but San Diego announced up to an additional $200,000 in conditional transfer fees. Ludmila joined the Stars in July 2024 and was signed through the 2026 NWSL season. The Brazilian forward is a massive loss for the Stars, as she was a lone, goal-scoring bright spot with Mallory Swanson out on maternity leave. Receiving such significant funds for a player who only had one year remaining on her contract is great, but Chicago will only reap the rewards if it can convince players to join the team, something it has struggled to do in recent years.

Washington Spirit signs Canadian defender Élisabeth Tsé through 2028

(January 13, 2026) The Washington Spirit announced the signing of Canadian defender Élisabeth Tsé through 2028, with a 2029 team option. The 23-year-old has appeared in over 50 matches for Première Ligue club Le Havre since 2023; Washington will pay a transfer fee to the French club in exchange for Tsé. She will join fellow Québécoise Gabby Carle on the backline for Washington.

Racing Louisville keeper Cristina Roque loaned to Sporting Club Jacksonville through end of USL Super League season

(January 13, 2026) Racing Louisville FC announced that Cristina Roque will join Sporting Club Jacksonville of the USL Gainbridge Super League on loan until their season ends in May 2026. The 24-year-old keeper, who is from Florida and represents Puerto Rico internationally, has not seen competitive minutes for Louisville since she signed with the club in July 2025. She has played in one NWSL match, a shutout win for Utah against Louisville in 2024. Sporting JAX currently sits atop the Super League standings after 14 games.

San Diego signs goalkeeper Leah Freeman through 2026

(January 12, 2026) The San Diego Wave announced that the club signed goalkeeper Leah Freeman to a one-year contract, through the 2026 NWSL season. Freeman spent the 2025 season — her rookie season — with Bay FC. She did not make an appearance. In college, she spent time with the University of Oregon (2020-22) and Duke University (2023-24). She was named the ACC Goalkeeper of the Year in 2024 at Duke.

Racing Louisville acquires defender Quincy McMahon in trade with the San Diego Wave; Wave acquire allocation money, international roster spots

(January 12, 2026) Racing Louisville FC acquired defender Quincy McMahon in a trade with the San Diego Wave. In return, the Wave will receive “$25,000 in unfunded allocation money, $25,000 in funded allocation money and one international roster spot for each of the 2026 and 2027 seasons,” per a press release. McMahon, in her rookie year last season, made seven regular-season appearances, and one appearance in the NWSL playoffs.

Utah Royals acquire midfielder Narumi Miura in trade with Washington Spirit; Spirit receive $180K in allocation money

(January 12, 2026) The Utah Royals have acquired midfielder Narumi Miura in a trade with the Washington Spirit. The Spirit, in return, will receive $180,000 in allocation money. In addition to the trade, Miura signed a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. The deal includes a mutual option for 2028. Miura began her NWSL journey with the North Carolina Courage in 2023-24, where she started 45 of 47 appearances and won the 2023 NWSL Challenge Cup. She then joined the Washington Spirit for one season, in 2025, where she also won the Challenge Cup and started 20 of 23 appearances.

Denver Summit signs midfielder Lindsey Heaps through 2029

(January 12, 2026) Denver Summit announced the signing of midfielder and U.S. women’s national team captain Lindsey Heaps (née Horan), to a four-year contract, through the 2029 NWSL season. Heaps will join the Summit, in her native Colorado, in June, once the 2025-26 season with Olympique Lyonnais concludes. Heaps previously featured in the NWSL for the Portland Thorns from 2016-21. She has been with Lyon since 2022.

Denver Summit signs midfielder Yuna McCormack through 2028

(January 10, 2026) Denver Summit announced the signing of midfielder Yuna McCormack to a three-year deal, through the 2028 NWSL season. McCormack signed her first professional contract with the Summit, after a collegiate career at Florida State (2025) and the University of Virginia (2023-24). In 2025, McCormack won the NCAA Tournament with the Seminoles, where she started 20 of her 22 appearances, scoring six goals and providing three assists. She is a U.S. youth international, with most recent experience at the U-20 level.

Racing Louisville signs defender Mirann Gacioch through 2026

(January 9, 2026) Racing Louisville FC announced the signing of defender Mirann Gacioch to a one-year contract, with a mutual option for an additional year, through the 2026 NWSL season. It is Gacioch’s first professional contract, after coming off a collegiate career at Ohio State University. Gacioch started 81 of 83 appearances for the Buckeyes, including every minute of the 2025 season. She and Ohio State set a program record for most shutouts in a single season, in 2025, with seven. Ohio State advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament last fall.

Angel City acquires Emily Sams in trade with Orlando Pride; Pride receive $650K in intraleague transfer funds

(January 9, 2026) Angel City FC acquired defender Emily Sams in a trade with the Orlando Pride, and signed the USWNT international to a three-year contract through the 2028 NWSL season. In return, the Orlando Pride received $650,000 in intraleague transfer funds. Sams, who was originally drafted by Orlando in the 2023 NWSL Draft, started 70 of her 72 regular-season appearances for the Pride. She helped Orlando win the 2024 NWSL Championship and NWSL Shield. That same year, she was named the NWSL Defender of the Year. Sams has seven U.S. appearances with the senior national team.

Portland Thorns loan Daiane to C.F. Monterrey in Liga MX Femenil through July 16, 2026

(January 9, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced that defender Daiane has been loaned to Liga MX Femenil side C.F. Monterrey (Rayadas), on a short-term loan through July 16, 2026. Daiane signed with the Thorns in December 2024, and made seven regular-season appearances in 2025, totaling just 67 minutes. Her club career includes stops at Paris Saint-Germain, CD Taćon, Madrid CFF and Flamengo. A member of the Brazilian women’s national team since 2018, she has made 15 appearances for her country.

Denver Summit acquires Janine Sonis in trade with Racing Louisville; Racing receives $120K in intraleague transfer funds

(January 9, 2026) Denver Summit announced the acquisition of forward Janine Solis in a trade with Racing Louisville. In return, Racing Louisville will receive $120,000 in intraleague transfer funds, and the deal “includes performance conditions that could see that total rise to $160,000,” per a press release. Sonis spent the last two seasons with Louisville, and has also featured in the NWSL for the Houston Dash (2016-17), Sky Blue FC (2018) and Portland Thorns (2022-24). In the NWSL, she has started 93 of her 122 regular-season appearances, where she scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists. Internationally, she features for the Canadian women’s national team, where she’s made 123 appearances and scored 36 goals.

Kansas City re-signs goalkeeper Clare Gagne through 2026

(January 9, 2026) The Kansas City Current have announced the re-signing of goalkeeper Clare Gagne to a one-year contract, through the 2026 NWSL season. Gagne did not make an official NWSL appearance in 2025. She ended the 2025 season on the injury list in early September, due to a head injury. She featured collegiately at Brown University and the University of North Carolina (graduate season).

Washington Spirit signs goalkeeper Sara Wojdelko through 2026

(January 9, 2026) The Washington Spirit announced the signing of goalkeeper Sara Wojdelko to a one-year contract, through the 2026 NWSL season. Wojdelko’s contract is the first of her professional career after a standout collegiate career at Vanderbilt University. She recorded a 32-8-10 record, while earning 22 shutouts and allowing only 36 goals, in five seasons. Wojdelko made a career-high 11 shutouts in the 2025 season.

Kailen Sheridan signs with North Carolina Courage through 2027

(January 8, 2026) Goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan and the North Carolina Courage have agreed to terms on a two-year, fully guaranteed contract through the 2027 NWSL season, the club announced. Sheridan was set to continue with San Diego in 2026, but it was announced in December that they had mutually terminated her contract, sending her into free agency.

Defender Hannah Anderson traded to Orlando, Chicago receives $70k intraleague transfer funds

(January 8, 2026) The Orlando Pride acquired defender Hannah Anderson from Chicago Stars FC in exchange for $70,000 in intraleague transfer funds. Additionally, the Pride signed Anderson to a new contract through the 2027 season. The 24-year-old was originally drafted by the Stars in the third round of the 2024 NWSL Draft and arrives in Orlando after making 28 appearances and recording one assist across her two seasons in Chicago.

Houston Dash signs Notre Dame defender Leah Klenke through 2028

(January 8, 2025) Notre Dame defender Leah Klenke joins her hometown as she signs with the Houston Dash through the 2028 season. The Houston native is a decorated collegiate and youth national team player lauded for her versatility and leadership. She finished her collegiate career with 78 appearances for Notre Dame and contributed to 22 goals (five goals and 17 assists) as a defender and midfielder.

Portland Thorns sign Alabama forward Maddie Padelski through 2027

(January 8, 2026) The Portland Thorns announced the signing of University of Alabama forward Maddie Padelski through the 2027 season. The 18-year-old Tennessee native joins the Thorns after helping the Crimson Tide advance to the Second Round of the 2025 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament for the first time since 2023 and helped post a winning 21-15-7 record in her two seasons with Alabama. Padelski helped the U.S. to a bronze finish at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Orlando Pride and Grace Chanda mutually part ways

(January 8, 2026) The Orlando Pride and midfielder Grace Chanda have mutually agreed to terminate her contract, which was set to run through the 2026 season after its option was exercised in June 2025. Chanda joined the Pride midway through the 2024 season ahead of her participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics with Zambia, but her NWSL debut was delayed due to an injury suffered during the tournament. Chanda made seven appearances for Orlando across all competitions.  

Angel City signs Florida State midfielder Taylor Suarez through 2028

(January 8, 2026) Angel City FC announced that the club has signed 2025 NCAA Champion midfielder Taylor Suarez to a three-year contract with the club. Suarez joins ACFC following a two-year collegiate career at Florida State University, where she made 36 appearances, 26 starts, scored eight goals, recorded 14 assists, and logged 1,969 minutes. At the international level, Suarez has represented the United States across multiple youth national team levels.

Denver Summit signs Stanford attacker Jasmine Aikey through 2027

(January 8, 2026) Denver Summit announced they have signed Stanford standout Jasmine Aikey to a two-year contract through the 2027 season, with a mutual option for 2028. Aikey played four seasons at Stanford University, where she established herself as one of the most dynamic forwards in college soccer, known for her vision, technical ability, and versatility in the attacking third. She was consistently ranked among the national leaders in assists and chances created.

Gotham signs Stanford forward Andrea Kitahata for 2026 season

(January 8, 2026) Gotham FC has signed Stanford University and U.S. youth international forward Andrea Kitahata through the 2026 season, the club announced. Kitahata joins Gotham FC following an impressive collegiate career at Stanford, where she appeared in 99 matches over five seasons and led the Cardinal to two national title games and a third College Cup. In her final season, she recorded 17 goals and 10 assists in 25 games.

Boston Legacy signs Ugandan striker Fauzia Najjemba through 2027

(January 8, 2026) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of Ugandan international Fauzia Najjemba to a two-year contract with a mutual option to renew. Najjemba joins the Legacy from Russian club Dynamo Moscow, where she played for three seasons. The 22-year-old has also represented Uganda at the youth and senior levels.

Houston Dash signs forward Kat Rader through 2028

(January 7, 2026) The Houston Dash announced the club has signed forward Kat Rader to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. During her time at Duke Unversity, Rader led the Blue Devils to back-to-back NCAA Women’s College Cups in 2024 and 2025. The forward totaled 32 goals and 20 assists in 65 appearances, 61 of them starts, over the course of four seasons. Rader has also been a part of the United States Youth National Team pool since 2018, suiting up most recently for friendlies in 2024 prior to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Angel City signs Duke midfielder Carina Lageyre through 2028

(January 7, 2026) Angel City FC announced that it has signed Duke University midfielder Carina Lageyre to a three-year contract. Lageyre joins Angel City FC having played in 65 matches, starting 59, logging 3,962 minutes, and scoring six goals, including three game-winning goals for Duke. She contributed to two NCAA College Cup appearances (2024 and 2025). She also has youth national team experience.

Angel City signs defender Karsyn Cherry through 2028

(January 7, 2026) Angel City FC announced that it has signed University of Louisville defender Karsyn Cherry to a three-year contract. Cherry joins ACFC after a four-year career at Louisville, where she compiled 69 appearances, 68 starts, 12 goals, and 5,610 minutes. During her final season, Cherry was named a second-team All-American and helped take the Cardinals to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2019 and the ACC tournament for the first time since 2020.

Bay FC signs forward Alex Pfeiffer through 2028

(January 7, 2026)  Bay FC announced the club has signed forward Alex Pfeiffer to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Pfeiffer spent two years with the Kansas City Current, with whom she signed in 2023. Her contract at the time made her the fourth-youngest signing in league history at 15 years, 338 days. She then became the youngest goal scorer in league history in her pro debut at 16 years, 111 days, and played 10 games before her season ended due to a knee injury. Pfeiffer has also won trophies with the United States U-15, U-16 and U-17 women’s national teams.

Washington Spirit sign goalkeeper Kaylie Collins to new contract

(January 7, 2026) The Washington Spirit announced the club has signed goalkeeper Kaylie Collins to a one-year contract through the 2026 season. Collins joined the Spirit during the 2024 season. She previously played for the Orlando Pride and Seattle FC as well as Australia’s Western Sydney Wanderers. During her collegiate career at USC, she made 66 appearances and recorded a 0.83 career goals against average.

Racing Louisville signs forward Taylor White through 2027

(January 7, 2026) Racing Louisville FC announced the signing of forward Taylor White to a two-year contract, running through the 2027 NWSL season. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native recently concluded a four-year collegiate career with the West Virginia Mountaineers. She totaled 26 goals and 17 assists throughout 80 appearances, capping off her senior year with 10 goals and 10 assists. The team reached the NCAA tournament in three of her four seasons.

Boston Legacy signs defender Jorelyn Carabalí through 2027

(January 7, 2026) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of Colombian defender Jorelyn Carabalí to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. She is on a permanent transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion WFC of the Women’s Super League in England, where she made 26 appearances in three seasons. Carabalí has also played for the Colombian national team since 2021, helping them reach the Copa America Feminina final in 2022 and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup quarterfinals.

Kansas City signs forward Amelia White through 2027

(January 6, 2026) The Kansas City Current have announced the signing of forward Amelia White to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. White recently wrapped up a four-year collegiate career with Penn State University, where she started 53 of 88 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 14 assists. She has four game-winning goals to her name as a Nittany Lion. She logged over 4,500 minutes for Penn State.

Bay FC signs defender Brooklyn Courtnall through 2028

(January 6, 2026)  Bay FC announced that the club has signed defender Brooklyn Courtnall to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Courtnall was loaned to Bay FC from the North Carolina Courage during the 2025 NWSL season. Courtnall made six starts in seven appearances for Bay last year, totaling 541 minutes. In one season in North Carolina, Courtnall featured in two matches. Before beginning her professional career, she featured collegiately for the University of Southern California.

Washington Spirit announce departures of Brittany Ratcliffe, Courtney Brown, Ouleye Sarr and Kysha Sylla

(January 6, 2026) The Washington Spirit announced that midfielder Courtney Brown, forwards Brittany Ratcliffe and Ouleye Sarr and defender Kysha Sylla will not be returning to the team in 2026. According to a press release, Ratcliffe and Brown “mutually agreed to a contract termination.” Brown has since signed with the Utah Royals. Sarr is a free agent, and will look for a new opportunity. Additionally, the loan spell for Sylla has not been renewed, and she will return to Olympique Lyonnias in France.

Angel City signs midfielder Ary Borges through 2028

(January 6, 2026) Angel City FC announced the signing of Brazilian international and midfielder Ary Borges to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Borges joins the Los Angeles-based club after spending the last three years with Racing Louisville. She made 43 starts in 53 regular-season appearances in Louisville, scoring three goals and providing two assists. Before she came to the U.S., she featured for Brazilian club Palmeiras from 2020-22, making 27 starts in 33 appearances, scoring five goals and providing two assists. She also featured for São Paulo (2019) and Sport Recife (2017-18). Borges has made 30 appearances for Brazil, scoring 10 goals.

Denver Summit FC signs defender Ayo Oke through 2028

(January 6, 2026) Denver Summit FC announced the signing of defender Ayo Oke, a U.S. Youth International, to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. She joins the expansion club on a free transfer. The defender joins after spending the 2025 calendar year with Pachuca of Liga MX Femenil. She made 31 appearances, scoring one goal, and helped Pachuca win the Clausura 2025 title. Oke featured for the University of California from 2021-22, and then transferred to UCLA from 2023-24. Oke has represented the U.S. at the youth level, most recently on the U-23 team.

Racing Louisville signs forward Audrey McKeen through 2028

(January 6, 2026) Racing Louisville FC announced the signing of forward Audrey McKeen to a three-year contract, running through the 2028 NWSL season. McKeen is a U.S. Youth International, and this is her first professional contract. Hailing from Virginia, McKeen is 17-years-old and featured for the Virginia Development Academy. She has competed internationally for the U.S. U-19, 18 and U-17 groups.

Boston Legacy signs defender Andressa Ferreira (Kaká) through 2027

(January 6, 2026) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of defender and Brazilian international Andressa Ferreira — otherwise known as Kaká — to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. There is an option to renew the contract. Kaká joins the Legacy after spending her entire club career in her native Brazil. She began her career in 2018 with Minas Brasília, where she remained until 2021. Then she joined Santos for one season before venturing to São Paulo. Internationally, Kaká was on the 2025 Copa América Feminina-winning team.

Boston Legacy signs defender Nicki Hernández through 2027

(January 5, 2026) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of defender and Mexican international Nicki Hernández to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. Hernández joins Boston after spending the last three-and-a-half years in Liga MX Femenil with Club América. She made 117 appearances, scoring 11 goals. She and Club América won the Liga MX Femenil Clausura in 2023. Hernández represents Mexico, and was on the nation’s 2023 Pan American Games gold medal-winning team.

San Diego signs defender Nya Harrison to new contract

(January 2, 2026) The San Diego Wave announced that the club signed defender Nya Harrison to a one-year contract, through the 2026 NWSL season. Last year was the defender’s professional debut. She made one appearance, and was also part of the Wave’s squad that competed, and won, the inaugural North American World Sevens Tournament. She featured collegiately for Stanford, starting 34 of 58 appearances.

Boston Legacy signs defender Bianca St. Georges through 2028

(January 2, 2026) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of defender Bianca St. Georges to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. St. Georges spent the 2025 season with the Utah Royals, making 11 starts in 22 appearances. Previously, St. Georges, a Canadian international, spent time with the North Carolina Courage (2024) and the Chicago Red Stars (2021-23). Throughout her time in the NWSL, St. Georges started 53 of 82 appearances.

Gotham FC acquires Savannah McCaskill in trade with San Diego; Wave receive $175K

(January 2, 2026) Gotham FC and the San Diego Wave announced a trade to kick off the new year. Gotham has received forward Savannah McCaskill, while the Wave acquired $175,000. According to a press release from San Diego, McCaskill “expressed interest in a new opportunity, and we agreed this trade was the appropriate next step for the player and the club.” McCaskill featured in the NWSL with Gotham when they were known as Sky Blue FC, from 2018-2019, before being traded to the Chicago Red Stars. She also spent time with Racing Louisville (2021) and Angel City FC (2022-23).

Melanie Barcenas re-signs with San Diego

(December 31, 2025) The Wave announced that they signed San Diego native Melanie Barcenas to a new contract through the 2026 season. The midfielder signed with San Diego in 2023 as the youngest-ever player to sign in the NWSL at the time. Since making her professional debut later that year, she has appeared in 34 matches across all competitions, recording two goals and two assists. 

Utah Royals sign Courtney Brown

(December 31, 2025) Forward Courtney Brown signed as a free agent through the 2026 season with the Utah Royals after agreeing to a mutual termination of her contract with the Washington Spirit. The Utah native was selected by the Washington Spirit No. 49 overall in the 2024 NWSL Draft. In 2025, Brown played in 15 matches and started 5, scoring one goal.

Washington Spirit sign Lucia Di Guglielmo

(December 31, 2025) The Washington Spirit signed Italian defender Lucia Di Guglielmo to a three-year contract with a 2029 team option, the club announced. As part of the move, the Spirit will pay a transfer fee to AS Roma of Italy’s Serie A. Di Guglielmo has appeared for Italy at two UEFA Women’s Euro tournaments (2022, 2025) and one FIFA Women’s World Cup (2023). The defender started four of Italy’s five matches at this summer’s Euro, playing 339 total minutes as she helped her side advance to the tournament’s semifinal round for the first time in 28 years.  

San Diego Wave signs midfielder Lia Godfrey

(December 30, 2025) San Diego Wave FC announced that the club has signed midfielder Lia Godfrey to a two-year contract through the 2027 season, with options for 2028 and 2029. Godfrey joins after an accomplished collegiate career at the University of Virginia, where she played from 2020 to 2025. Godfrey made 107 appearances (101 starts) for Virginia, totaling 28 goals and 33 assists over her career. In 2025, Godfrey was named ACC Midfielder of the Year and selected as a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy. She finished the year tied for Virginia’s team lead with 11 goals, helping lead the Cavaliers to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

San Diego Wave and Kailen Sheridan mutually terminate contract

(December 29, 2025) San Diego Wave FC and Canadian goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan agreed to a mutual termination of her contract, the club announced. Sheridan had signed a four-year extension with the California club in July 2023. Her contract ran through the 2026 NWSL season. The Wave now have no goalkeepers under contract for the 2026 season.

Portland Thorns sign midfielder Shae Harvey through 2028

(December 29, 2025) The Portland Thorns announced the signing of midfielder Shae Harvey to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Harvey signs her first professional contract, coming off a collegiate career at Stanford University. She and Stanford won the 2025 NCAA National Championship, over Florida State. In three years at Stanford, Harvey started 69 of of 73 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 15 assists.

San Diego signs defender Mimi Van Zanten through 2027

(December 29, 2025)  San Diego Wave FC announced the signing of defender Mimi Van Zanten to a two-year deal, through the 2027 NWSL season. Additionally, the deal includes options for 2028 and 2029, respectively. Van Zanten joins the Wave, signing her first professional contract, after spending three years at Florida State University. She won a National Championship with Florida State in two of her three seasons, along with two ACC Tournament titles. Van Zanten started 48 of her 57 appearances for the Seminoles, scoring five goals and providing 11 assists. Internationally, she is a member of the Jamaican women’s national team.

Boston Legacy signs forward Sammy Smith through 2027

(December 29, 2025) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of forward Sammy Smith to a two-year deal, through the 2027 NWSL season. Hailing from Hanson, Massachusetts, Smith began her professional career in Iceland, featuring for FHL in 2024 and Breiðablik from 2024-25. With Breiðablik, she appeared in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, along with making 30 appearances and scoring 21 goals. She played collegiately for Boston College from 2019-22 and transferred to Texas A&M for her final season in 2023.

Boston Legacy sign forward Amanda Allen through 2027

(December 26, 2025) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of forward Amanda Allen, a Canadian international, to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. There is a club option to renew. Allen began her professional career with the Orlando Pride, signing in 2023. She made 11 appearances for Orlando, and spent time on loan with Lexington SC of the USL Super League and Halifax Tides in Canada’s Northern Super League.

Gianna Paul signs three-year contract with Kansas City

(December 26, 2025) The Kansas City Current agreed to terms on a three-year contract with forward Gianna Paul from the University of Alabama, the club announced. Paul is a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-American and will be in Kansas City through the 2028 season with a team option for 2029. The forward concluded her time in Tuscaloosa as Alabama’s program record holder with 40 goals during her four-year career from 2022-25.

Kansas City announces additional departures

(December 24, 2025) The Kansas City Current announced that goalkeeper Tyler McCamey, defender Regan Steigleder and forward Alex Pfeiffer have departed the club. McCamey and Steigleder will pursue free agency at the end of their contracts on Dec. 31, 2025, while Pfeiffer and the club agreed to mutually terminate her contract as she explores other playing opportunities. Additionally, the club extended forward Fridah Mukoma’s loan to Beijing Jingtan FC in the Chinese Women’s Super League for the 2026 season. Mukoma initially signed a four-year deal with the Current earlier in 2025 before being loaned out for the 2025 season.

Bay FC signs defender Heather Gilchrest through 2028

(December 23, 2025)  Bay FC announced that the club has signed defender Heather Gilchrist to a three-year deal through 2028, following a four-year college career at Florida State University where she helped lead the Seminoles to two NCAA titles and earned two United Soccer Coaches All-American selections. She’s the first new signing to join the club for the 2026 season.

Chicago Stars acquire forward Michelle Alozie in trade with Houston; Dash receives $40K in allocation money

(December 23, 2025) Chicago Stars FC announced a trade with the Houston Dash. The Stars received forward Michelle Alozie — who the club signed to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. In return, the Dash received $40,000 in allocation money. Alozie, a Nigerian international, was on the 2024 Nigeria African Cup of Nations-winning team.

Washington Spirit re-signs Gabby Carle through 2029

(December 23, 2025) The Washington Spirit announced the re-signing of defender Gabby Carle to a four-year contract, through the 2029 NWSL season. Carle has been with the Washington Spirit since 2023, where she has started 68 of 73 regular-season appearances. She won the NWSL Challenge cup with the Spirit in 2025, and was part of the Canadian women’s national team team 2021 and 2024 Olympic teams. She has 60 international appearances for Canada.

Racing Louisville signs forward Rachel Hill through 2027

(December 23, 2025) Racing Louisville FC announced the signing of forward Rachel Hill to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. Hill spent the last two seasons with Bay FC. Throughout her NWSL career — which includes time with the Orlando Pride, Chicago Red Stars, San Diego Wave and Bay — Hill has made 108 starts in 160 regular-season games. She was on the San Diego Wave team in 2023 that won the NWSL Shield.

Denver Summit FC signs defender Carson Pickett through 2027

(December 22, 2025) Denver Summit FC announced the signing of defender Carson Pickett to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. The veteran defender has been named to the NWSL’s Best XI twice (2022 and 2021) and won the NWSL Championship with the Orlando Pride in 2024, along with the NWSL Shield. Pickett has started 160 of 184 regular-season appearances since 2016. She has spent time with the Seattle Reign, Orlando Pride, North Carolina Courage and Racing Louisville. Pickett also spent time in Australia, featuring for the Brisbane Roar in 2018-19 and 2019-20. In Australia, she started all 23 of her regular-season appearances.

Kansas City signs defender Meila Brewer through 2028

(December 22, 2025) The Kansas City Current have signed defender Melia Brewer to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Brewer, who is 16 years old, joins after spending time training with the Kansas City Current and Kansas City Current II. She is part of the United States Youth National teams, which includes a U-15 Concacaf Championship title in 2024. She also started all four matches in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2025. According to the Current press release, Brewer is “age-eligible for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.”

Chicago Stars re-sign forward Nádia Gomes through 2026

(December 22, 2025) Chicago Stars FC announced the re-signing of forward Nádia Gomes to a one-year contract, through the 2026 NWSL season. Gomes, a Portuguese international, started 10 of 28 regular-season appearances the last two seasons. She scored two goals and provided two assists — all in the 2025 season. Gomes featured collegiately for Brigham Young University before beginning her professional career with the Stars in 2024.

Boston Legacy sign forward Ella Stevens through 2027

(December 22, 2025) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of forward Ella Stevens to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season, with an option to renew. Stevens joined the expansion club as a free agent after two seasons with Gotham FC. She began her career in 2020 with the Chicago Red Stars, where she made 46 appearances. In her two seasons at Gotham, she won an NWSL Championship in 2025, and made 32 appearances. Stevens has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists across five professional seasons.

San Diego signs midfielder Jordan Fusco through 2027

(December 17, 2025)  San Diego Wave FC announced the signing of midfielder Jordan Fusco to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. Additionally, the Wave have loaned Fusco to the Tampa Bay Sun for six months. Her loan will last through June 8, 2026. Fusco originally signed with the Wave on a short-term contract in ahead of the 2025 NWSL season, and then signed through June 2025. In her rookie season, she made seven appearances. Fusco featured collegiately for Penn State University (2024) and the University of Tennessee (2021-23).

Sophia Wilson picks up option, will remain with Portland through 2026

(December 17, 2025). Sophia Wilson picked up the player option on her contract and will remain with the Portland Thorns through the 2026 NWSL season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Sportico reported that her salary will be one million dollars. Wilson did not play the entire 2025 season due to pregnancy, and gave birth to her daughter in September. Wilson has been with the Thorns since 2020, when she got drafted by the club. She had a two-year collegiate career with Stanford University.

Boston Legacy signs goalkeeper Laurel Ivory through 2027

(December 17, 2025) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of goalkeeper Laurel Ivory to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. She joins the club as a free agent, after spending time in Kansas City and Seattle. In college, she was a four-year starter for the University of Virginia.

Chicago Stars sign goalkeeper Katie Lund through 2028

(December 15, 2025) Chicago Stars FC announced the signing of free agent goalkeeper Katie Lund to a three-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. Lund joins after spending five years with Racing Louisville FC. Lund made 80 appearances for Racing Louisville. She joins a goalkeeping crew that includes U.S. women’s national team veteran Alyssa Naeher (who is under contract for the 2026 season).

Boston Legacy sign goalkeeper Casey Murphy through 2029

(December 15, 2025) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of goalkeeper Casey Murphy to a four-year contract, with a club option for an additional year, through the 2029 NWSL season. Murphy joins the Boston expansion side after five years with the North Carolina Courage. In North Carolina, she made over 100 appearances. She also spent two years with OL Reign, from 2019-20. Murphy has 20 international appearances for the U.S. women’s national team.

Denver Summit FC sign Camryn Biegalski for 2026

(December 11, 2025) Denver Summit FC announced the signing of defender Camryn Biegalski ahead of the club’s inaugural season. Biegalski has signed a one-year contract through the 2026 season with a mutual option for 2027. She was part of the Washington Spirit’s 2021 championship run, and was most recently with the Chicago Stars. She has made 64 appearances in her five seasons in the NWSL.

Boston Legacy sign goalkeeper Hannah Stambaugh through 2027

(December 11, 2025) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of Japanese free agent Hannah Stambaugh on a two-year contract. Stambaugh was previously with Angel City FC, which she joined in 2024 but did not make any appearances for. Before coming to the NWSL, she played for Japanese clubs Omiya Ardija Ventus and INAC Kobe Leonessa.

Kansas City sign Marisa Jordan from North Carolina in exchange for a 2026 international roster spot

(December 11, 2025) The Kansas City Current have signed goalkeeper Marisa Jordan in a trade with the North Carolina Courage. Jordan’s contract with Kansas City runs through 2027. In exchange, the Courage received a 2026 international roster spot. Jordan appeared in nine matches for North Carolina across NWSL regular season play and the 2024 NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup.

Chicago Stars re-sign goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher through 2026

(December 10, 2025) Chicago Stars FC announced the re-signing of goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher to a one-year contract through the 2026 NWSL season. Naeher, who will feature in her 11th season in Chicago, is two shutouts away from tying the league record. The veteran goalkeeper has 50 shutouts and the record is currently held by Nicole Barnahrt with 52 shutouts.

Racing Louisville re-signs midfielder Avery Kalitta through 2026

(December 10, 2025) Racing Louisville FC re-signed midfielder Avery Kalitta to a one-year contract through the 2026 NWSL season. Kalitta joined Racing Louisville in May 2025, after spending her collegiate career with the University of Michigan. In her first professional season, Kalitta made one appearance in a friendly against USL Super League side Lexington SC.

NC Courage sign Nigerian forward Chioma Okafor through 2028

(December 10, 2025) The North Carolina Courage announced the signing of Nigerian international forward Chioma Okafor to a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Additionally, the Courage also listed a club option for the 2029 season. On the Nigerian team that won the African Cup of Nations in 2024, Okafor is a recent alum of the University of Connecticut, where she featured in 57 matches, scoring 30 goals and providing five assists.

Houston Dash defender Katie Lind retires from professional soccer

(December 10, 2025) The Houston Dash defender Katie Lind has announced her retirement from professional soccer. Lind (née Naughton) began her career with the Chicago Red Stars, suiting up for the Illinois-club from 2016-19. She joined the Dash in 2020. Lind has made 193 appearances across all competitions throughout her 10-year career, including 176 starts. Lind won the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup with the Dash. In the NWSL offseason, she also spent time in Australia with Adelaide United and Perth Glory.

Houston Dash signs Evelina Duljan to new contract

(December 9, 2025) The Houston Dash announced that forward Evelina Duljan has agreed to a new contract through the 2026 NWSL season, with a team option for 2027. The Swedish international joined Houston after winning the 2024 NWSL Championship and Shield with the Orlando Pride. She won her first professional trophy in 2023 with Juventus, lifting the Coppa Italia. The 22-year-old appeared in 14 matches, starting five, for the Dash in 2025.

Denver FC signs Jordan Baggett for 2026

(December 9, 2025) Denver Summit FC announced the signing of Colorado product and NWSL Champion Jordan Baggett to a contract for the club’s inaugural season. Baggett played for the Washington Spirit from when she was drafted in 2019 to 2023. The Stanford Cardinal joined Racing Louisville in 2023 via midseason trade, now joining Denver as a free agent.

Courage signs goalkeeper Madison White through 2028

(December 9, 2025) The North Carolina Courage announced they signed free agent goalkeeper Madison ‘Madi’ White to a three-year, guaranteed contract through the 2028 NWSL season. White was selected by Racing Louisville in the 2024 NWSL Draft before going on loan to Dallas Trinity of the USL Super League. Across 26 appearances in the 2024-25 season, White made 62 saves and kept a league-best nine clean sheets.

Reign announce end-of-season roster decisions

(December 9, 2025) Seattle Reign announced it has 24 players under contract for next season. Three Reign FC players – Lauren Barnes, Hanna Glas and Veronica Latsko – officially retired following the 2025 season. Ji So-Yun, Julia Lester, Mikayla Cluff and Ana-Maria Crnogorčević enter free agency. The club and Olivia Van der Jagt mutually agreed to terminate her contract, which was set to run through 2026.

Gotham FC signs Butler forward Talia Sommer

(December 9, 2025) Gotham FC announced it has signed Butler University and Israeli international forward Talia Sommer to a contract through the 2026 season. The 21-year-old joins the reigning champions after four seasons at Butler University, where she finished tied for fifth in program history in assists (24) and seventh in goals (28).

Kansas City signs midfielder Rocky Rodríguez for 2026 season

(December 9, 2025) The Kansas City Current announced that Rocky Rodríguez has signed a contract extension with the club, keeping her in Kansas City through the 2026 season with a mutual option for 2027. The veteran midfielder will enter her 11th year in the NWSL. Rodríguez joined the Current in December 2024 via a trade with Angel City FC. In her first season with Kansas City she logged 706 minutes in 21 regular-season games with seven starts.

Seattle Reign signs goalkeeper Neeku Purcell for 2026 season

(December 8, 2025) Seattle Reign announced that they signed goalkeeper Neeku Purcell to a new contract through the 2026 NWSL season. The Seattle native and Reign Academy product did not make an NWSL appearance after signing with the team in June 2025 as a short-term replacement goalkeeper, but “made a strong impression at the club, providing valuable depth and consistency in training.”

North Carolina signs Lauryn Thompson through 2029

(December 8, 2025) The North Carolina Courage have signed Lauryn Thompson, an English youth international forward, to a “guaranteed contract” through the 2029 NWSL season, making a four-year deal. She is originally from Wake Forest, North Carolina. In a press release, the Courage noted that Thompson, “has been a key piece of the England Youth National Teams, most recently competing for the U-19s in a trio of UEFA Women’s Euro Qualifying matches.”

Racing Louisville re-signs Lauren Milliet through 2027

(December 8, 2025) Racing Louisville FC re-signed club captain and defender Lauren Milliet to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. Her deal includes “updated terms” and an option for 2028. Milliet is Louisville’s all-time leader in appearances, featuring in 113 matches. She scored one goal, and provided five assists, throughout her time in Louisville.

Seattle Reign sign Sofia Cedeño through 2028

(December 8, 2025) Seattle Reign FC announced the signing of Sofia Cedeño, a 19-year-old midfielder, to a three-year NWSL contract, through the 2028 season. She trained with the Seattle Reign prior to the 2025 season as a trialist. She joined Halifax Tides FC of the Canadian Northern Super League, where she started six of 11 appearances. Cedeño is from Panama, and will occupy an international roster spot.

Houston Dash signs goalkeeper Hillary Beall through 2027

(December 8, 2025) The Houston Dash announced the signing of free agent goalkeeper Hillary Beall on a two-year deal, through the 2027 NWSL season. Beall appeared in two NWSL regular-season games in 2024. She recently was rostered on the San Diego team that just won the World Sevens Tournament in Florida. Beall began her professional career with Racing Louisville in 2022 and remained with the club for two seasons before loan to Western United FC in Australia.

Boston Legacy sign Laís Araújo through 2026

(December 8, 2025) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of Brazilian free agent Laís Araújo on a one-year contract, through the 2026 NWSL season. There is an option for an additional year. She joins the newest NWSL club after spending two-and-a-half seasons at Benfica in Portugal. Araújo has also featured for Famalicão, Apollon and Madrid CFF. She attended college in the United States, featuring for the University of Florida from 2017-18, after transferring from ASA College.

Maycee Bell signs extension with Courage through 2028

(December 5, 2025) The North Carolina Courage and defender Maycee Bell have agreed to a multi-year contract extension to keep the former UNC Tar Heel in Courage Country through the 2028 NWSL season, the club announced. Since joining North Carolina via trade from Gotham during the 2024 season, Bell became a mainstay in the Courage defense, making 26 appearances across her season and a half. During that time, Bell has won 68% of her duels and 65% of her tackles.

Racing Louisville re-signs Marisa DiGrande

(December 5, 2025) Racing Louisville FC re-signed veteran NWSL midfielder Marisa DiGrande to a multi-year contract through 2027 with a mutual option for the 2028 season. DiGrande was a free agent heading into the offseason. The 28-year-old made 46 appearances (25 starts) across the last two seasons with Racing after joining in December 2023 from the Houston Dash.

Mary Long signs two-year contract with Kansas City

(December 4, 2025) Kansas City Current forward Mary Long, a hometown player who joined the club in January 2025 as a collegiate signing, has inked a two-year contract extension through 2027. The 18-year-old played in 10 NWSL regular-season matches during her rookie season and helped the Current clinch its first NWSL Shield. Before joining KC, Long had a standout freshman season in 2024 at Duke.

Gotham FC announces end-of-season roster updates

(December 4, 2025) Gotham FC announced its end-of-season roster decisions after winning its second NWSL Championship in three years. Gotham has 24 players under contract through at least the 2026 season. Forward Midge Purce is a free agent, and the club and Purce are in ongoing discussions. After two seasons with Gotham FC, forward Ella Stevens is a free agent and will not re-sign with the club. Additionally, forward Geyse will now return to Manchester United following the completion of her loan with Gotham.

NC Courage sign forward Ally Schlegel through 2028

(December 4, 2025) The North Carolina Courage announced that they have signed free agent Ally Schlegel to a three-year contract through 2028. Schlegel comes from the Chicago Stars, where she played for three years and totaled 12 goals, six assists and 62-regular season appearances.

NC Courage extend Riley Jackson through 2028

(December 3, 2025) The North Carolina Courage have announced a contract extension with midfielder Riley Jackson through 2028. The deal is a three-year contract. In 2025, Jackson played the fourth-most minutes on the Courage, starting 23 of 25 matches. She joined the Courage in 2023, but didn’t play her first match until 2024. In two seasons, she has scored two goals and provided one assist.

Denver Summit sign Abby Smith through 2027

(December 3, 2025) Denver Summit FC announced the signing of goalkeeper Abby Smith to a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. Smith’s contract also includes a mutual option for 2028. Smith began her NWSL career in 2016 with the Boston Breakers, and also also featured for the Utah Royals, Kansas City Current, Portland Thorns, Gotham FC and, most recently, the Houston Dash. Smith has made 68 starts in 69 regular-season appearances. In the NWSL, she has logged 16 clean sheets. She also spent time in Australia with the Western Sydney Wanderers. She was on two NWSL Championship-winning teams: Gotham FC (2023) and Portland Thorns (2022).

Kansas City sign defender Katie Scott through 2027

(December 3, 2025) The Kansas City Current have announced the signing of defender Katie Scott on a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. Scott made her professional debut on July 12 in the Teal Rising Cup, against Palmeiras. She also faced off against Corinthians in the tournament. She featured in 159 minutes during both matches. In addition, she made her first NWSL start and debut on Sept. 26 against the Chicago Stars. Prior to joining the Current, Scott featured in one collegiate season for Penn State in 2024.

Chicago Stars sign forward Ryan Gareis through 2028

(December 3, 2025) Chicago Stars FC announced the signing of forward Ryan Gareis on a three-year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. Gareis began her career in 2022 with the Houston Dash. She made 24 starts in 53 appearances, scoring one goal and providing five assists. The forward originally hails from Naperville, Illinois, about an hour away from Chicago.

Boston Legacy sign Sophia Lowenberg through 2027

(December 3, 2025) Boston Legacy FC have announced the signing of Boston College alum Sophia Lowenberg on a two-year contract, through the 2027 NWSL season. Lowenberg’s contract also includes a club option for 2028. The Connecticut native featured in 67 matches for Boston College. The midfielder recorded seven goals and two assists in four seasons. She started 41 matches for Boston College.

San Diego announces end of season roster updates

(December 2, 2025)  San Diego Wave FC announced its end of season roster updates. The club has 18 players signed at least through the 2026 NWSL season, including: Hillary Beall, DiDi Haračić, Kailen Sheridan, Daniela Arias, Hanna Lundkvist, Nya Harrison, Quincy McMahon, Perle Morroni, Kennedy Wesley, Kimmi Ascanio, Gia Corley, Kenza Dali, Laurina Fazer, Jordan Fusco, Delphine Cascarino, Dudinha, Adriana Leon and Makenzy Robbe. According to the Wave, who will be competing in the 7-v-7 World Sevens Football Tournament in Florida from Dec. 5-7, “defender Kristen McNabb and forward Melanie Barcenas will be in attendance but not dressing for the matches in the tournament.”

Orlando Pride sign Hailie Mace through 2028

(December 2, 2025) The Orlando Pride announced the signing of free agent defender Hailie Mace, to a three-year contract through the 2028 NWSL season. Mace joins Orlando after spending the last four seasons with the Kansas City Current. Mace joined Kansas City in 2022, after spending the 2021 season split between the North Carolina Courage and Kansas City. Mace has made 81 starts in 105 NWSL seasons. She also spent time in Europe, featuring for Rosengård in 2019 and Kirstianstad in 2020, in Sweden.

(December 2, 2025) The North Carolina Courage have announced its end of season roster update. The Courage have 19 players under contract at least through 2026, including: Marisa Jordan, Maycee Bell, Broolyn Courtnall, Natalie Jacobs, Feli Rauch, Sydney Schmidt, Natalia Staude, Ryan Williams, Riley Jackson, Shinomi Koyama, Manaka Matsukubo, Denise O’Sullivan, Oli Peña, Ashley Sanchez, Dani Weatherholt, Hannah Betfort, Aline Gomes, Payton Linnehan and Cortnee Vine. Players out of contract, or exploring free agency, include: Charlotte McLean, Victoria Pickett, Katie Cappelletti, Tyler Lussi, Heather MacNab, Casey Murphy, Brianna Pinto, Meredith Speck and Olivia Wingate.

(December 2, 2025) Chicago Stars FC announced its end of season roster updates. A total of 20 players are under contract with the Stars as of Dec. 2, 2025, including: Halle Mackiewicz, Mackenzie Wood, Hannah Anderson, Samantha Angel, Kathrin Hendrich, Natalia Kuikka, Taylor Malham, Sam Staab, Bea Franklin, Julia Grosso, Manaka Hayashi, Maitane, Leilanni Nesbeth, Brianna Pinto, Jenna Bike, Ivonne Chacón, Micayla Johnson, Jameese Joseph, Ludmila and Mallory Swanson. Players out of contract, or exploring free agency, include: Meg Boade, Stephanie Sparkowski, Ally Schlegel, Camryn Biegalski, Ava Cook, Nádia Gomes, Shea Groom, Alyssa Naeher and Cari Roccaro.

Racing Louisville signs Jordyn Bloomer through 2028

(December 2, 2025) Jordyn Bloomer is staying in Louisville. The goalkeeper has signed a three-year contract to remain with Racing Louisville through the 2028 NWSL season. Bloomer became Louisville’s starter in May 2025, beating incumbent goalkeeper Katie Lund. In 2025, Bloomer started 20 matches, allowing 26 goals and recording 79 saves. She earned five clean sheets.

Laurel Ivory announces departure from Kansas City

(December 2, 2025) Goalkeeper Laurel Ivory has announced her departure from the Kansas City Current after one year. She made two regular-season appearances for the Current, facing off with Racing Louisville on Aug. 1, and Bay FC on Sept. 6. Ivory began her career with the Seattle Reign in 2022.

Utah Royals sign Madison Hammond through 2027

(December 2, 2025) Utah Royals FC announced the signing of free agent midfielder Madison Hammond through the 2027 NWSL season. She began her professional career with Reign FC in 2021 where she started 10 of 13 matches. She then signed with Angel City FC, where she remained the last four years. In Los Angeles, she started 40 matches and featured in 72 games. Hammond has one career goal and one career assist.

Angel City extends Nealy Martin through 2027

(December 2, 2025) Angel City FC announced the contract extension of midfielder Nealy Martin. The midfielder joined Angel City from Gotham FC in September 2025, and featured in Angel City’s final six matches of the regular season. Martin began her professional career in 2021 with Racing Louisville, where she remained for two seasons. She then joined Gotham from 2023-25, where she helped the team win its first-ever NWSL Championship in 2023.

Portland Thorns issue end of season roster update

(December 2, 2025). After finishing the 2025 season with an 11-8-7 record, the Portland Thorns dropped their end of season roster update. Notably, four players will enter free agency — Kaitlyn Torpey, Nicole Payne, Naomi Powell and Olivia Katoa. The team is in discussions with Sophia Wilson, who missed the 2025 season on maternity leave and has a player option for 2026. Laila Harbert will also return to Arsenal, as her loan period has ended.

Utah Royals sign Miyabi Moriya to salary cap-exempt contract for 2026

(December 2, 2025). The Utah Royals announced they will sign Japanese defender Miyabi Moriya to a salary cap-exempt contract for the 2025 NWSL season. She recently finished her first year in the NWSL with Angel City FC. She has 14 total caps for the Japanese women’s national team.

NC Courage re-sign Dani Weatherholt through 2026

(December 1, 2025) The North Carolina Courage have re-signed Dani Weatherholt to a one-year contract through the 2026 NWSL season. Weatherholt joined the Courage in 2024, and has recorded 33 appearances across two seasons. Throughout her 10-year NWSL career, Weatherholt has amassed 166 NWSL regular-season appearances.

Orlando Pride announce end of season roster update

(December 1, 2025) The Orlando Pride have announced its end of season roster decisions, with a few players embarking to new teams or testing free agency. Officially out of contract are: Amanda Allen, Morgan Gautrat, Mariana Larroquette, Aryssa Mahrt, Elyse Bennett, Simone Charley, Carson Pickett and Bri Martinez. Ally Watt was on loan with the Pride after signing with Denver Summit in the summer. Orlando has 23 players under contract:Kerry Abello, Kat Asman (LOAN), Barbra Banda (SEI), Luana, Grace Chanda, Zara Chavoshi, Angelina, McKinley Crone, Julie Doyle, Cori Dyke, Oihane, Simone Jackson, Ally Lemos, Haley McCutcheon, Cosette Morché, Anna Moorhouse, Kylie Nadaner, Jacquie Ovalle, Emily Sams, Rafaelle, Marta, Viviana Villacorta and Summer Yates. 

Chicago Stars signs free agent Brianna Pinto through 2027

(December 1, 2025) Chicago Stars FC announced the signing of free agent midfielder Brianna Pinto. Pinto signed a two-year contract with the Stars, through the 2027 NWSL season. She spent the last four seasons with the North Carolina Courage, where she recorded eight goals in 71 appearances. She was originally drafted by Gotham FC in 2021, where she spent one season.

Racing Louisville announce end of season roster update

(November 26, 2025) On the heels of the club’s first-ever berth in the NWSL Playoffs, Racing Louisville announced it will bring back 17 players for the 2026 season: Jordyn Bloomer, Cristina Roque, Ellie Jean, Lauren Milliet, Makenna Morris, Courtney Petersen, Arin Wright, Savannah DeMelo, Taylor Flint, Katie O’Kane, Milly Clegg, Kayla Fischer, Ella Hase, Emma Sears, Janine Sonis, Sarah Weber and Kirsten Wright. The following players will enter free agency and will not re-sign with Racing: Jordan Baggett, Bethany Balcer, Allie George, Uchenna Kanu, Katie Lund and Madison White. Racing remains in negotiations to sign other returning players.

Jess Fishlock re-signs with the Seattle Reign

(November 24, 2025) Seattle Reign FC announced the signing of veteran midfielder and club legend Jess Fishlock to a one-year contract through the 2026 NWSL season. Fishlock, who has been a member of the Reign since its inaugural 2013 season, finished the 2025 regular season with eight starts in 17 appearances, totaling a team-high six goals plus two assists.

Hina Sugita extends with Angel City through 2029

(November 18, 2025) Angel City FC announced that it has extended the contract of Japanese international midfielder Hina Sugita through the end of the 2029 season. This is a three-year extension on her previous contract, which was due to end after the 2026 season. Since signing with ACFC on September 30th via a trade from the Portland Thorns, Sugita started in the club’s final four matches of the regular season, playing 90 minutes in each. Sugita entered the NWSL in 2022 with the Thorns, helping the club capture the 2022 NWSL Championship in her debut season.

Denver Summit signs Megan Reid through 2028

(November 17, 2025) Denver Summit FC announced the signing of free agent defender Megan Reid to a three year contract, through the 2028 NWSL season. The Canadian women’s national team defender spent four seasons with Angel City FC, where she made 81 appearances, across all competitions. In her rookie season, in 2022, she achieved NWSL Ironwoman status. She featured collegiately at the University of Virginia.

Denver Summit signs Kaleigh Kurtz through 2028

(November 13, 2025) Denver Summit FC announced the signing of free agent defender Kaleigh Kurtz, to a three-year deal, through the 2028 NWSL season. Kurtz, the NWSL record-setting Ironwoman, joined the Summit after spending eight years with the North Carolina Courage. She won two NWSL Championships, two NWSL Shields and two NWSL Challenge Cups with the Courage. She has been an NWSL Ironwoman for four years in a row.

Chicago Stars re-sign Julia Grosso through 2028

(November 4, 2025) Chicago Stars FC announced the re-signing of Canadian women’s national team midfielder, Julia Grosso, through 2028. Grosso originally signed with the Chicago Stars in July 2024, committing to Chicago through 2026. During the 2025 regular season, Grosso recorded a team-high 25 chances created and 251 passes into the final third, the second-best passing average among Chicago Stars players (85.06%), and two goals and three assists in 24 matches played.

Boston Legacy sign Brazilian Amanda Gutierres from Palmeiras through 2029

(October 3, 2025) Boston Legacy announced the signing of Brazilian international forward Amanda Gutierres via permanent pre-transfer for an agreed upon transfer fee paid to Palmeiras. She will join the Legacy in January upon the opening of the 2026 transfer window and be contracted until December 2029. She was recently nominated for the 2025 Ballon d’Or Féminin and is a regular for the Brazilian National Team. Gutierres played a key role in securing Brazil’s victorious 2025 Copa América Femenina, finishing as joint top scorer of the competition with six goals.

Chloe Ricketts signs three-year contract with Boston

(October 1, 2025) Boston Legacy announced the signing of Chloe Ricketts on a pre-contract agreement from the Washington Spirit. The 18-year-old forward will join Boston following the conclusion of the 2025 NWSL season. She’s on contract through 2028 with a mutual option for 2029. Ricketts will spend the remainder of the current NWSL season on a short-term deal with the Houston Dash.

Denver Summit signs Spanish forward Nahikari García through 2027

(September 4, 2025) Denver Summit FC announced the signing of Spanish international Nahikari García, the club’s first international acquisition, to a multi-year deal through the 2027 season. The 28-year-old is a proven goalscorer with more than a decade of experience in Spain’s top flight. She will go on loan to Nottingham Forest Women FC for the remainder of the 2025 season before joining the club ahead of its inaugural NWSL season in 2026.

Bárbara Olivieri transferred to Boston Legacy, loaned to Tigres UANL for rest of 2025

(August 22, 2025) Boston Legacy FC have acquired Venezuela midfielder Bárbara Olivieri from the Houston Dash, the clubs announced on Friday. The transfer fee could rise to as much as $165,000, pending certain performance-based targets. Houston will receive $50,000 in intra-league transfer funds for this season, $50,000 in intra-league transfer funds for 2026, and $30,000 in conditional expansion allocation money and $35,000 in conditional intra-league transfer funds. Olivieri, 23, has been loaned to Tigres UANL in Liga MX Femenil for the remainder of the 2025 season.

Denver acquires midfielder Lourdes Bosch from Melbourne City FC

(August 21, 2025) Denver Summit FC announced the acquisition of midfielder Lourdes Bosch from Australian A-League Women’s club Melbourne City FC for an agreed-upon transfer fee. Bosch signed a contract through the 2027 season and will be immediately loaned to Liga MX Femenil’s C.F. Monterrey Femenil. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder will join Denver for preseason in early 2026. 

Ally Watt transferred to Denver Summit FC, loaned back to Orlando Pride for remainder of 2025

(August 13, 2025) Forward Ally Watt has been transferred to Denver Summit FC and will be immediately loaned back to the Orlando Pride for the remainder of the 2025 season, the club officially announced. The Pride will receive $75,000 in expansion allocation money that can be used through 2027, as well as $37,500 in intraleague transfer funds. Salary cap relief was a condition of the agreement. Watt, 28, becomes the Summit’s first-ever signing. ESPN first reported the news on August 4.

Boston Legacy FC signs American midfielder Aleigh Gambone

(August 11, 2025) Boston Legacy FC have signed American midfielder Aleigh Gambone to a contract through the 2027 NWSL season. Gambone has been loaned to FC Nürnberg Frauen through the end of 2025, as Boston will begin league play next year. Gambone featured collegiately for North Carolina before signing her first professional contract in Denmark with Fortuna Hjørring. She also featured for Glasgow City from 2023-25.

Boston Legacy FC signs Spanish midfielder Alba Caño through 2027

(July 31, 2025) Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of midfielder Alba Caño, a 21-year-old Spanish international. She joins Boston from FC Barcelona, where she made four senior team appearances in 2024-25. Her contract is through the 2027 NWSL season, with an option for 2028. She is a member of the Spanish U-19 team.

Mali international Aïssata Traoré signs with Boston Legacy

(July 10, 2025) Boston Legacy FC signed Mali international Aïssata Traoré to a three-year contract, running through the 2028 NWSL season. Traoré will remain on loan with her current club in the French top flight, FC Fleury 91, until she joins the Legacy for the 2026 preseason as the first-ever player from Mali to sign in the NWSL. 

Boston Legacy signs first-ever player, Annie Karich

(July 2, 2025) Ahead of their inaugural season, Boston Legacy FC announced they signed their first-ever player, American midfielder Annie Karich. Karich signed as a free agent from SC Freiburg of the Frauen-Bundesliga through the end of the 2027 season, with an option for 2028. The 21-year-old is on loan to a to-be-announced Liga MX Femenil club for the remainder of 2025 and will join Boston for preseason in January.
