It is no secret that the North Carolina Courage have struggled to score in 2025. Saturday night in Los Angeles, they came out of the gates smoking and found the back of the net after 42 seconds. After playing the opening ball backward, they sent a long ball toward the Angel City back line. They won a throw-in on the far side, took it quickly, and then worked their magic.

The Courage took the throw-in backward to open up some space and then switched the point of attack through a back line that was already sitting high. Below, Kaleigh Kurtz, in her 100th consecutive regular season start for the club, got on the ball and casually turned to play it to Malia Berkely on the near side.
