KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Trinity Rodman has never been away from the spotlight when in a Washington Spirit uniform. The 22-year-old winger draws attention from fans, the media, and opposing defenders alike, and for plainly good reason.
Rodman has attacking capabilities few other wingers have across the world, as evidenced by her performances in the U.S. women’s national team’s gold-medal Olympics run. The world has come to understand her unique defensive value, too, aware that she is dangerous no matter where she is, or which side has the ball.
But 2024 has been a different kind of campaign for the Spirit, and for Rodman. Her tally of eight goals and six assists were career bests, backed up by career-topping numbers in expected goals (xG) and expected assists (xA). She was producing and getting results at peak levels.
