Chawinga, Banda among those named to the NWSL Best and Second XI

The NWSL has named the best of the best for 2024.

The National Women’s Soccer League’s Best XI and Second XI of 2024 was officially announced today. Winners were determined by weighted votes, with 40% to NWSL players; 25% to head coaches, general managers, and owners; 25% to the media; and 10% to fans.

Débutantes to the Best XI include Temwa Chawinga, Barbra Banda, Croix Bethune and Ann-Katrin Berger, all in their first seasons in the NWSL. Defender Emily Sams, now in her second season, also makes her first appearance in a Best XI.
