Racing Louisville trades for Taylor Flint (nee Kornieck): What it means for team, player

A third team in four years for the former No. 3 overall pick offers another chance to start anew

Midfielder Taylor Flint (nee Kornieck) is now a member of Racing Louisville FC after being traded by the San Diego Wave for $150,000 in allocation money, the teams announced on Monday. Although only signed with the Wave through 2024, Louisville announced that it has restructured Kornieck’s contract to keep her signed through 2025.

“I’m super excited to have a chance to represent this organization,” Kornieck said in a statement released by Racing. “New beginnings are usually tough, but if the amount of support I have already received says anything about the future, this is going to be a special place.”

This is a trade with interesting implications for both teams – and Kornieck more than anyone – considering this is Kornieck’s third team in four years and Racing Louisville already has quite a stacked midfield.
