Concacaf announced its layout for next year’s Concacaf W Gold Cup. It is the first edition of the Gold Cup for the region’s national teams. Qualification is already underway and will last through February 2024.
The confederation announced that the tournament — which will go from February 20 until March 10 — will be played at four locations. Those four locations will be: BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California; Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California; Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas; and Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California.
The Women’s Gold Cup will feature 12 teams, including four teams from CONMEBOL, who qualified due to their top four finishes in the 2022 Copa América Femenina: Brazil, Colombia, Argentina and Paraguay.
Concacaf already has two automatic qualifiers: the United States women’s national team and Canada. The U.S. qualified after winning the 2022 Concacaf W Championship, and Canada won due to their victory in the Concacaf Olympic Playoff, which they won over Jamaica.
