Longtime Chelsea head coach Emma Hayes is in advanced discussions with U.S. Soccer to become the next head coach of the United States women’s national team, multiple sources told The Equalizer.
Chelsea announced on Saturday that Hayes will “depart the club at the end of the season to pursue a new opportunity outside of the WSL and club football.”
A U.S. Soccer spokesperson could not immediately be reached.
