2023 Women's World Cup

Will Savannah DeMelo make the USWNT’s 2023 World Cup roster?

The Racing Louisville midfielder is playing as well as anyone in the league. The USWNT is dealing with several injuries. DeMelo is also uncapped to date.

There’s no question about it: Savannah DeMelo is on fire.

In her last five appearances, the second-year midfielder has played a role in all seven of Racing Louisville’s goals — including scoring four of them. And that’s not even counting the own goal she forced against the Chicago Red Stars in this same stretch.

She’s not just scoring run-of-the-mill goals, either. Her first of two goals against the Kansas City Current last Wednesday — a beautiful curler taken with the outside of her right foot — was so audacious and bold that it inspired an entire article written about its genius.
