There’s no question about it: Savannah DeMelo is on fire.
In her last five appearances, the second-year midfielder has played a role in all seven of Racing Louisville’s goals — including scoring four of them. And that’s not even counting the own goal she forced against the Chicago Red Stars in this same stretch.
She’s not just scoring run-of-the-mill goals, either. Her first of two goals against the Kansas City Current last Wednesday — a beautiful curler taken with the outside of her right foot — was so audacious and bold that it inspired an entire article written about its genius.
