We don’t know when there will be actual National Women’s Soccer League games played in 2020, but we do have kit news. And everyone loves kit news!
A year after setting the bar with the Elevated Kit, the Chicago Red Stars on Thursday unveiled their Neighborhood Kit, which lists the names of “the 77 unique and diverse neighborhoods that make Chicago one of the greatest cities on earth.” The names of the neighborhood combine to look like stripes from a distance, forming a similar look to the team’s 2010 jersey in the now defunct Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS).
The back of the jersey features the Chicago city skyline, just like the Elevated Kit. Right now, merchandise is the only source of revenue for the Red Stars as the NWSL remains on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Neighborhood Kit quickly sold out of some men’s sizes. The jersey can be purchased here.
