The latest: Manchester City conceded a 61st minute penalty to Bristol City and ended up in a 1-1 draw that threw control of the league back to Arsenal. The Gunners beat West Ham United, 4-2 on Danielle van de Donk’s second-half brace and are two points clear of Man City with a match in hand. City remain undefeated including their win over Arsenal but have now been held to four draws while Arsenal have not dropped any other points. Chelsea (d. Everton, 3-0) and Birmingham City (d. Reading 2-1) both won go stay within five of the top and now three of second. Both clubs have also played one more match than Arsenal.

The latest: Barcelona were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Espanyol and slipped three points behind Atletico Madrid, comfortable 3-0 winners over Athletic Club. Barca remain in solid position though with an identical goal differential to Atletico and their March 16 showdown in the Spanish capital still to come on March 16. Elsewhere, Levante stole late points at Albacete on Estefania Banini’s 96th minute goal and Madrid won at Rayo Vallecano to create a cluster of teams battling to avoid relegation.
