The Equalizer Podcast, Episode 23: Coming down to the nitty gritty

The race to the playoffs for the 2018 National Women’s Soccer League started in real earnest this week, with many teams dropping points they needed to pick up, and quite a few walking away with controversial decisions. Of course, along with any ongoing drama, we’re here to comment!

This week, Dan Lauletta is joined by John D. Halloran and Claire Watkins in the ongoing quest to understand exactly who is peaking right now, what teams might not make it out of the regular season, and whether teams are combatting the referees as often as they are themselves. They specifically break down the essential function of stoppage time, and what exactly 30 seconds can mean to a squad. And, as always, they’re here to answer your questions from Twitter.

The theme music for the Equalizer Podcast is “First Conversations” by Scout Ripley. You can hear their work here.
