Today, Sky Blue FC announced that it waived Brazilian international midfielder Thaisa Moreno and forward Michaela Abam. The club’s release noted that they released both players to give them the opportunity to pursue opportunities to play abroad.
Thaisa signed with the NJ side this past off season and was in her first season with the club. The Brazilian made five starts in eight appearances with Sky Blue this season. She notched 396 minutes during those appearances. Abam made her way to New Jersey as the no. 4 overall pick in the 2018 NWSL College Draft. She was drafted out of West Virginia University. She made four appearances for the club this season.

Spirit waive midfielder Maddie Huster
The Washington Spirit announced today that they have waived midfielder Maddie Huster.
Huster, who was first selected by the Spirit in the 2018 NWSL College Draft out of Wake Forest University, made the NWSL roster as a National Team Replacement player during the June FIFA window. She was later signed by the club on June 29. Her sister Tori is on the Spirit as the only player left from 2013.
With the Spirit organization, she has played with the Reserves team for multiple seasons, highlighted by a W-League Championship in 2015. She is also a former U.S. Youth National Team player, receiving call-ups at the U-14, U-15, U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels.
