NWSL Player of the Month, Crystal Dunn and three-time Defender of the Year, Becky Sauerbrunn have been named to the league’s Team of the Month for June, the only two players to be so honored all four times in 2018. Dunn scored two goals and added an assist to keep the North Carolina Courage rolling toward a second successive Shield. Sauerbrunn anchors the back line for Utah Royals FC who continue to have the stingiest defense in NWSL with 11 goals conceded across 14 matches.
Sauerbrunn is joined on the back line by Royals teammate Becca Moros as well as the Courage duo of Abby Erceg and Merritt Matias. Dunn is joined up top by Christine Sinclair (Portland Thorns FC) and Kealia Ohai (Houston Dash.) The midfield is McCall Zerboni (Courage), Lindsey Horan (Thorns), and Yuki Nagasato (Red Stars). Alyssa Naeher (Red Stars) is the goalkeeper.
The NWSL Team of the Month is voted on my members of the NWSL Media Association.
