US Soccer announced today that the USA Women’s national team will take on the Mexico Women’s national team in Houston on Sunday, April 8th at BBVA Compass Stadium, home of the Houston Dash. This will be the 35th match in the USA-Mexico rivalry, which most recently resulted in a 1-0 USA victory in February of 2016 in an Olympic qualifying match, also coincidentally in Texas.
Of the match, USA head coach Jill Ellis had to say, “It will be good to get back together after the start of the new NWSL season and we will look forward to refocusing on our team goals as we continue to move towards World Cup qualifying. Mexico has made great strides at the senior and youth levels, and that benefits our region and our team as it gives us the opportunity to play more quality matches against CONCACAF opponents.”

According to Eurosport reporter Romain Balland, USA international and previous NWSL standout Morgan Brian will make her Olympique Lyonnaise debut this upcoming Sunday in a French Cup clash against Toulouse. Brian signed with OL early in 2018, after being acquired by the Chicago Red Stars from the Houston Dash late into the 2017 NWSL season.
Brian has struggled to stay healthy since the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada, and injuries were an issue going into her contract in France, so her OL debut has been highly anticipated since her arrival in Lyon in the beginning of January. OL feminin currently sit atop the League 1 table, above their rival Paris Saint-Germain who sit in second place.
