Newest NWSL club Utah Royals FC unveils crest, social media presence

The newest NWSL crest

Utah Royals FC (@UtahRoyals) were unveiled in the early morning hours Friday, injecting life into Salt Lake City’s NWSL club with a name, crest, website, social media presence, and season ticket information. A portion of a press release from the club described the significance of the logo.

The new Utah Royals FC circular badge pays homage to several elements of Real Salt Lake’s regal identity, with the profile of a Lioness head comingling with the iconic “Delicate Arch” of southern Utah. A Royals-specific crown lies atop the badge, with several concentric circles providing dynamic motion to the club’s “Claret Red” (PANTONE 201 C), “Cobalt Blue” (PANTONE 2758 CV) and “Victory Gold” (PANTONE 1235 CP) imagery. A stylized ball punctuates the beginning and the end of the “UTAH ROYALS FC” type that occupies the lower half of the circle, representing a connection to the RSL’s pyramid’s other pair of professional teams in Major League Soccer and the United Soccer League.

Season tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Monday, December 11. In the meantime, Real Salt Lake season ticket holders and anyone who already expressed an interest in season tickets through the club site will have exclusive access to priority seating locations beginning this Monday. Royals FC tee-shirts will also be available beginning Saturday but initially available only at RSL team store locations in Salt Lake City. Online orders for tee-shirts are expected to be available during the month of December in advance of Christmas.
