The Thorns rallied with two goals in the final half hour to defeat the Spirit, 2-1 on Saturday night. The Spirit went on top when Havana Solaun cleaned up a rebound on the goal line at 58 minutes. The lead was short lived though. Emily Sonnett’s free kick four minutes later was headed down by Tyler Lussi and finished by an unmarked Allie Long. The winner came in the 80th minute when Mallory Weber finished an Ashleigh Sykes cross.

The Thorns (7-4-4, 25 pts) head to the FIFA break in 3rd place and return to action Saturday, August 5 at home to the Houston Dash. The Spirit (3-8-3, 12 pts) remain bottom of the table and next play at Sky Blue on Friday, August 4.
