Orlando to host 2017 NWSL Championship

The 2017 NWSL Championship is headed to Orlando City Stadium on Saturday, October 14.  NWSL managing director Amanda Duffy and Orlando Pride owner Flavio Augusto da Silva made the announcement during halftime of the Pride match against the Washington Spirit on Lifetime. Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer was also on hand for the announcement. It is the first home match for the Pride in the new building.

This will mark the third season the NWSL Championship will be played at a pre-determined venue. After two seasons when the higher seeded finalist hosted, the 2015 title match went to Portland. Last year BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston housed the league’s signature match.
