France’s true first test at this Rio 2016 Olympics will come on Saturday against the world No. 1 United States. But on Wednesday, Les Bleues opened the tournament with a 4-0 win over Colombia, and the result was never in question.
Carolina Arias put the ball in her own net in the second minute for a foreboding start for Colombia, and Eugenie Le Sommer scored 12 minutes later, diving to head the ball from a rebound off the crossbar.
But the truly spectacular goals came from free kicks, first from Camille Abily in the first half and then late in the match from Amel Majri. You’re going to want to see them:

The victory was a bit of revenge for France after Colombia pulled off one of the greatest upsets in women’s soccer history, defeating France, 2-0 in the group stage of the 2015 World Cup.
France will face the United States – which beat New Zealand 2-0 earlier Wednesday – on Saturday (4 p.m. ET, NBCSN) with the winner likely to finish first in Group G.
