In the 68th minute, Ubogagu kept a long ball in danger with a backwards kick after Brittany Taylor failed to properly clear the ball away. With a defender in front of her, O’Sullivan kicked it into the lower left corner where Nicole Barnhart had no chance of saving it.

Two minutes later it was Ubogagu scoring. After Rachel Daly played her the ball, Ubogagu dribbled into the box, got bumped, but remained strong and was able to get it past Barnhart.

In the 86th minute, Kansas City was awarded a penalty kick after Rebecca Moros stopped a Brittany Taylor shot with her arm inside the penalty area. Averbuch stepped up and scored from the spot with a shot almost right down the middle.

Kansas City’s remaining efforts were not enough however, and Ubogagu’s goal ended up the game-winner.
