Rookies help lift Houston to a 3-1 win over Chicago

Goals from captain Carli Lloyd, and rookies Rachel Daly and Janine Beckie were enough to lift the the Houston Dash to a 3-1 win over the Chicago Red Stars at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston on Saturday night.

Chicago opened the scoring in the 13th minute when the ball slipped through the Houston defense and landed to Christen Press, who slotted it in past Houston keeper Lydia Williams. Daly equalized for Houston in the 22nd minute, when she picked up a loose ball outside Chicago’s 18-yard box and rocketed a shot past Red Stars keeper Alyssa Naeher.
