Many of words have been written about Abby Wambach, on this site and across the internet.
On Wednesday, Wambach played in the final match of her 14-year international career. Despite the best efforts of her teammates to set her up, Wambach did not score, meaning her world record will remain at 184 career goals. And the United States surprisingly lost to China, 1-0, ending the Americans’ 104-game, 11-year home unbeaten streak.
