All-German and all-French semifinals in the UEFA Women’s Champions League are a possibility following the quarterfinal draw for this season’s competition.
Lyon will play Czech club Slavia Praha in the quarterfinals in March, and Paris Saint-Germain will play Barcelona on the same side of the draw. Should Lyon and PSG both advance to the semifinals, they would play each other. PSG pulled off one of its greatest triumphs in recent history last season when it defeated Lyon, 2-1 on aggregate in the Round of 16 of the competition, ultimately falling to Frankfurt in the final.
Holders Frankfurt are on the other side of the draw with a stiff test against Swedish champions Rosengård in the quarterfinals. The winner of that series will face either Germany’s Wolfsburg or Italian club Brescia in the semifinals.
The final will be played on May 26 in Reggia Emilia, Italy.
