With a press conference set for Monday to announce Alex Morgan as NWSL expansion team Orlando Pride’s first player, the U.S. striker scored for the U.S. national team nine minutes into its friendly against Brazil in Orlando on Sunday:
Morgan, per sources and as first reported by SI, has been traded by Portland Thorns FC to Orlando Pride, the NWSL’s 10th team which was announced last week. The Pride will play at the Citrus Bowl, where Sunday’s game is being held.
The U.S. went on to win the match, 3-1.
