Hawaii will host a United States national team match for the first time — men’s or women’s — in December. The United States women’s national team will play Trinidad and Tobago on Dec. 6 at Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium as part of the Americans’ Women’s World Cup victory tour.

The match will be the first of four in 11 days for the U.S. women in December. Trinidad and Tobago will also serve as the United States’ opponent on Dec. 10 in a to-be-determined city. The victory tour will end on Dec. 16 in New Orleans with a match against China, meaning the fourth such match will take place somewhere between Dec. 10 and Dec. 16.

Hawaii has never hosted a U.S. men’s or women’s national team game. It will become the 33rd state (plus the District of Columbia).

“When I took this job I was told of the importance of having a wide footprint in terms of where we bring the team to play and this first-ever game in Hawaii certainly stays true to that goal,” U.S. head coach Jill Ellis said. “We always enjoy going to new markets and giving fans across the country, and in December across the Pacific Ocean, a chance to see the team play. I know the players and staff are very excited about going to Hawaii and we are looking forward to the experience of being on Oahu and playing this historic match against T&T at Aloha Stadium.”

The United States women’s national team’s victory tour continues on Oct. 21 and Oct. 25 against Brazil in Seattle and Orlando, respectively. The U.S. women are currently riding a 100-match home unbeaten streak dating back to 2004.
