MONTREAL — The United States enters Tuesday’s Women’s World Cup semifinal against Germany with confidence after its best performance of the tournament against China.
Finally, things clicked. Carli Lloyd had her freedom. Kelley O’Hara provided a spark on the wing. Amy Rodriguez applied pressure up top. And the defense? Well, the defense did what the defense do, extending its shutout streak to 423 minutes.
