Sometimes readers in one space aren’t readers in another space. Some of my work appears on NBC Sports, including any of the longform pieces I write.

With the United States playing Sweden on Friday, there is a lot of chatter about Pia Sundhage (read here if you don’t know why). There is also a lot of attention on Christen Press, who became the world-class player that she is while playing in Sweden.

And don’t forget that Alex Morgan is the X-factor in this tournament for the United States, Abby Wambach’s role has changed and Carli Lloyd is, even despite being one of the world’s best midfielders, under-appreciated.
