Frankfurt advanced to the UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinals on Sunday with a huge win over Bristol Academy, prevailing 7-0 on the day and 12-0 on aggregate.
The second leg in Germany was a formality after last week’s 5-0 in at Bristol, but Frankfurt sent a message with another huge victory. Mandy Islacker led the way on Sunday with a second-half hat trick, scoring three goals in a 17-minute span.
Frankfurt joins Brøndby, Paris Saint-Germain and two-time reigning champions VfL Wolfsburg in the semifinals, to be played over two legs on April 18/19 and April 25/26. Frankfurt will face Brøndby and Wolfsburg will take on PSG.
Dzsenifer Marozsán, Kozue Ando, Laura Störzel and Jana Löber also scored for Frankfurt on Sunday.
