Christen Press’ 20th international goal was a beauty and it put the United States up 2-0 over France just before halftime in the Algarve Cup final. The score held as the U.S. won a 10th Algarve Cup title.
Just soak it up:
“It’s always hazy looking back on it, but I remember getting the ball in the pocket between the defensive line and midfield line and having a little bit of space as the defender was dropping off. Sometimes, as an attacking player, you see the little hole through the back line that you can try to wiggle through,” Press said. “Honestly, it doesn’t often work out so I’m glad it worked out today, and it was a great game to have it.”
