Megan Rapinoe is out several weeks after sustaining a right knee injury at U.S. women’s national team training camp. She will miss the United States’ away matches against France and England on Feb. 8 and Feb. 13, respectively.
Rapinoe strained a ligament in her right knee during training in Carson, Calif. and returned home for continued rehabilitation. The U.S. will finish camp, which runs through Jan. 25, with 29 players.
Rapinoe has 29 goals in 96 caps for the United States.
Last week, forward Stephanie McCaffrey was called up following a successful stint in the U-23 camp earlier this month. McCaffrey was drafted No. 5 overall on Friday in the NWSL Draft and then traded the Boston Breakers.
