2015 Women's World Cup

USWNT draws Sweden, Australia, Nigeria in Group of Death

The United States has been drawn into the Group of Death for the 2015 Women’s World Cup, drawing Sweden, Australia and Nigeria, the toughest of the six groups in the competition. The No. 1 ranked Americans will take on world No. 5 Sweden – snubbed from being a seeded team — as well as No. 10 Australia and African champion Nigeria.

Also….we told you this would happen. It’s the worst-case scenario for the United States.

The six seeded teams were assigned groups in order to get specific teams in specific venues according to Jérôme Valcke. The United States was assigned to Group D, meaning the Americans will play twice in Winnipeg and once in Vancouver for the group stage.
