The Western New York Flash announced the signing of 29-year-old defender India Trotter on Monday.
Trotter played for Saint Louis Athletica, Sky Blue FC and the Atlanta Beat in WPS. She most recently played for Dalsjöfors GoIF in the Swedish Damallsvenskan.
“India is exactly the type of player we want on our roster,” Flash general manager and head coach Aaran Lines said. “She’s a versatile player who can excel at two or three different positions and we’re excited to bring her experience on board. She hasn’t played at the professional level recently, but she’s very eager to prove herself this season. We want those types of hungry, driven players in Western New York.”
Trotter was signed as a discovery player.
Trotter appeared twice for the United States women’s national team, in 2006 and 2007. She was selected as an alternate for both the 2007 World Cup and the 2008 Olympics.
In 97 appearances for Florida State University, Trotter scored 24 goals and added 18 assists.
