Twelve players were waived by their NWSL clubs on Friday, including Joanna Lohman, Angie Kerr and Emily Van Egmond.
Teams have until Monday at 5 p.m. ET to claim a player off of the Waiver Wire. If two teams request the same player, that player will be awarded to the team that finished lower in the standings during the 2014 NWSL regular season. Once a team claims a player from waivers, it is moved to the bottom of the claiming order for all future waiver sessions for the remainder of the off-season.
Lohman was waived by the Boston Breakers after two seasons with the team. Kerr played for Portland Thorns FC for two seasons, while Van Egmond was with the Chicago Red Stars in 2014 after playing part of 2013 in Seattle.
The Western New York Flash led all teams with four waived players, while the Houston Dash waived three players.
