2014 Algarve, Cyprus Cup placement matches set

Germany and Japan, the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in the world, respectively, will play for the 2014 Algarve Cup title on Wednesday and England will take on France in the Cyprus Cup final. The placement matches for both tournaments are set after Monday’s final day of group play.

The major shock of the day was the United States’ historic 5-3 to Denmark, which sends the Americans into the 7th place game against North Korea.

Scotland continued to impress at the Cyprus Cup, beating Australia 4-2, but the Scots will have to settle for the third place game. France’s 3-0 win over the Netherlands on Monday was enough to see them through to the final. England advanced to the final with a 2-0 win over Canada, who will play for 5th.
