NWSL announces complete 2014 schedule

The Houston Dash enter NWSL by hosting the champion Thorns on April 12 at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The Houston Dash will open their NWSL existence by hosting the champion Portland Thorns FC at BBVA Compass Stadium on April 12 (8 p.m. EDT).  The Spirit, Reign, and FC Kansas City will also host opening weekend matches as part of the 108-match schedule released by the league on Friday.  Red Stars fans face an extra week of waiting until opening up at home April 19 against the Flash.

The first championship rematch will be May 3 back at Sahlen’s Stadium where the Thorns beat the Flash 2-0 in last summer’s inaugural NWSL Championship.  The Thorns will welcome the Dash to JELD-WEN Field Wednesday, May 21.  Their final meeting will be June 7 in Portland.  The Thorns and Flash drew both regular season matches in 2013.
