Through various reports, we now have a pretty good idea of what the 2014 schedule looks like for the U.S. women’s national team, as well as key start and end dates for the National Women’s Soccer League.
The NWSL schedule is yet to be released but expected sometime in the first half of February. Each team will play 24 regular season games from April 12/13 through mid-August.
Here’s what we know for sure and what we’ve heard as 2014 takes shape:
Jan. 31 — USWNT vs. Canada | Frisco, Texas
Feb. 8 — USWNT vs. Russia | Boca Raton, Fla.
Feb. 12 — USWNT vs. Russia | Atlanta
March 5 — USWNT vs. Japan | Algarve Cup in Portugal
March 7 — USWNT vs. Sweden | Algarve Cup in Portugal
March 10 — USWNT vs. Denmark | Algarve Cup in Portugal
March 10 — NWSL training camps begin
March 12 — USWNT Algarve Cup placement game
April 12/13 — Opening weekend in NWSL
April (TBD) — Two USWNT home friendlies, per a report
May (TBD) — Road game for USWNT, likely at Canada
June (TBD) — Two USWNT home friendlies, reportedly against France
August (TBD) — Two USWNT home friendlies, per a report
August 30/31 — NWSL Championship weekend
September (TBD) — Two USWNT home friendlies, per a report
October (TBD) — CONCACAF Women’s World Cup qualifying, host country TBD
