The U.S. women are underway with their final training camp of 2013, this one at U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center in Carson, Calif. The camp roster is here. There is one addendum: Morgan Brian won’t join the U.S. since No. 1 Virginia is in the Women’s College Cup semifinals on Friday in Cary, N.C. Plus, the college junior still has finals to take after trying to win a national title.
Hope Solo, Nicole Barnhart, Jill Loyden and Alyssa Naeher have been kept for camp following the four-day goalkeeper mini-camp. That means Western New York Flash goalkeeper Adrianna Franch, Sky Blue FC goalkeeper Brittany Cameron and University of Texas keeper Abby Smith were released, which is the only real news out of the camp thus far.
That, and Heather O’Reilly won the dreaded Beep Test, a measurement of player fitness.
