NWSL College Draft set for Jan. 17 in Philly

The 2014 National Women’s Soccer League College Draft will take place Friday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. ET in the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Just like last year and the four years that Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) held a draft, the 2014 edition will be held in conjunction with the NSCAA Convention, the largest annual soccer gathering in the U.S. Major League Soccer holds its SuperDraft at the NSCAA Convention each year and will do so again on Jan. 16, 2014.

The draft will take place in Room 113C of the convention center. The draft will be open to the public and media. Last year’s draft in Indianapolis was closed to the public.

Who could some of the top draft picks be? Assuming UNC star Crystal Dunn is in the draft and not allocated, she’s likely going to be the No. 1 pick. On Tuesday, the 15 semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy — won by Dunn last year as college soccer’s best player — were revealed.
