Christen Press scored twice to lift Swedish club Tyresö past Denmark’s Fortuna Hjørring, 2-1, in the first leg of their Round of 16 UEFA Women’s Champions League matchup.

It was Press who scored the two goals that lifted Tyresö past PSG, 2-1 on aggregate, in the Round of 16.

Elsewhere, Martina Müller and Alexandra Popp scored for defending champions VfL Wolfsburg, giving them a 2-1 aggregate lead over 2013 Swedish champion Malmö. Ramona Bachmann scored for Malmö, who now must go win on the road.

Kelly Smith returned in Arsenal’s convincing 3-0 win over Glasgow City. Steph Houghton opened the scoring early and then Danielle Carter and an own goal by Eilish McSorley sealed victory for the Gunners.

Isobel Christiansen and Josanne Porter gave Birmingham a 2-0 win over Zorky — which played American Amy Barczuk the full 90 — but fellow Russian club Rossiyanka beat Italy’s Torres on an early own goal from Linda Tucceri Cimini.
