Chicago Red Stars defender Jackie Santacaterina is out six months after having successful right hip surgery on Wednesday. The surgery included labral debridement, femeroplasty, and a capsular repair. Surgery was conducted by Dr. Benjamin Domb at Weiss Memorial Hospital.
The Red Stars report Santacaterina first sustained the injury on June 29 against Seattle
“I am really bummed my offseason won’t exactly be going as planned,” Santacaterina said. “But I am doing all I can to prepare for the 2014 season.”
Santacaterina started 14 games for Chicago in 2013, scoring three goals and adding an assist.
