Grings and fellow German Sonja Fuss joined the Red Stars in May and each appeared in 16 matches. Grings, a forward, finished the season with three goals and one assist.
Red Stars general manager Alyse LaHue told The Equalizer that their contracts were “always a one-year thing” as the two are ready to return to Germany. Retirement is a strong possibility for Fuss.
