Erika Tymrak has been named the 2013 National Women’s Soccer League Rookie of the Year. The 22-year-old FC Kansas City midfielder scored six goals and added four assists.
Tymrak, a University of Florida product, was drafted No. 11 overall in the second round of the 2013 NWSL College Draft.
Western New York Flash goalkeeper Adrianna Franch finished second in the voting, while Boston Breakers forward Sydney Leroux finished third.
This comes after teammate Lauren Holiday won the Golden Boot as the league’s leading scorer (12 goals) and she led the league in assists (9).
