Official: Red Stars deal Moscato to Breakers for Leon

The Chicago Red Stars have traded defender Carmelina Moscato to the Boston Breakers in return for Adriana Leon, sources confirmed to The Equalizer on Saturday.

 

UPDATE, 6/30: The teams made the trade official on Sunday at 10 a.m., as reported. Moscato is available for selection for Boston on Sunday vs. Sky Blue FC.

Both Moscato and Leon entered the league as allocated Canadian national team players.

Leon has played just 163 minutes with Boston this season, starting one of the six games in which she has appeared. Moscato has started four of the five matches she appeared in for Chicago.

On Saturday, Boston officially added defender Jazmyne Avant, who was waived by Portland on June 20.
