Abby Wambach has been voted the Week 9 NWSL Player of the Week by the editors of The Equalizer. Wambach also won the official award, voted on by a wider group of media.
After assisting on two goals in the United States’ 3-0 win over Canada on June 2, Wambach played 90 minutes in Boston, scoring the Flash’s opener in a 2-2 draw. She then played 90 minutes in New Jersey in a dominant 3-0 win over Sky Blue FC, tallying a goal and an assist.

This is the second time Wambach has won the official media award and the first time she has won The Equalizer’s Player of the Week award.
