United States national team and FC Kansas City midfielder Kristie Mewis grew up in Hanson, Mass., about 40 minutes south of Boston and equidistant from Gillette Stadium, where the U.S. hosts South Korea in the first of two friendlies on Saturday.
Mewis is excited to be back near the area, where she played youth soccer and played college soccer at Boston College. The Equalizer’s Meg Linehan caught up with Mewis after training on Tuesday.
