June 2 has been circled on the calendar for months now. It’s USA-Canada. It’s “The Rematch.”
The game is huge for Canada and it’s a very good test for the United States as well. Canadians such as Sophie Schmidt and Diana Matheson have stood out in the opening seven weeks of the National Women’s Soccer League, which has helped develop players ahead of this match.
Christine Sinclair, Carmelina Moscato and Schmidt chatted with The Equalizer’s Meg Linehan in Toronto after training on Friday about the pride and passion of playing for Canada, as well as what it means for Sunday’s match.
