Western New York Flash forward Abby Wambach suffered a head injury late in Saturday’s 1-1 tie with the Washington Spirit and will undergo concussion testing on Monday.
On Sunday afternoon, Flash assistant general manager Mike Cipolla issued the following statement to The Equalizer:
Abby took a ball to the head yesterday evening in a game against the Washington Spirit and is being monitored by our medical staff. Abby will undergo concussion testing tomorrow morning and we will know more after those tests.”
Jeff DiVeronica of the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle is calling it a “possible concussion” and he’s a good man to follow for updates.
