SOMERVILLE, Mass. — National Women’s Soccer League executive director Cheryl Bailey took in the match between the Washington Spirit and the Boston Breakers at Dilboy Stadium on Sunday, one day after attending the league opener in Overland Park, Kan., between FC Kansas City and Portland Thorns FC.
Bailey spoke with The Equalizer about her thoughts on opening weekend as well as the rumors regarding Canadian expansion for next year. In the video above, Bailey says that “clearly there is interest and we’ll assess that…in the next couple of months.”
