Amy Carnell has stepped down as general manager of Seattle Reign FC for personal reasons, the club announced on Monday. Head coach Laura Harvey will take over GM responsibilities as well.
“I want to thank the club for the opportunity to help bring professional women’s soccer to Seattle,” Carnell said in a statement through the club. “I will always be a fan of the club and wish them all the best for this season and beyond.”
Carnell was the club’s first employee after serving the same role with the Seattle Sounders Women. Last season she helped bring US women’s national team players Alex Morgan, Hope Solo, Megan Rapinoe and Sydney Leroux to Seattle for part of the USL W-League season.
Harvey previously served a similar dual role of coach and GM with Arsenal Ladies in England.
